Plays great.
My game arrived on time and in proper condition. It plays great for a PS2 and I'm happy to have this in my collection again. Im glad this was for my region and also a not a pirated copy.

my first one star review
I was very disappointed in this game. I feel like this was a step back back from the previous armoured cores. The graphics were bad, the gameplay wasn't much fun, and the little movie clips the game has were basically like block people. I love ac3 and its extension, but after that the series was ruined.

good game
i love armored core- i've been playing since the first one came out in 97-- and NEXUS is the best one since the original. BUT-- i've built up my mech a little going thru 20 some missions on evolution- and here i am playing revolution(the remakes of old missions) and i'm stuck on the SECOND MISSION!i've tried it 20 times now...it's too Fing hard!- you have to go in and disarm these bombs strapped to explosive fuel tanks with 4 or 5 MT's shooting at you at once...with a 2 minute time limit...wtf? 4 stars other than that- great game, but jeezus .....

First disc is ok, but the second disc is so friggin awesome!
I have seen that this game got some really bad reviews and I understand why. I bought this game with zero expectations and I really enjoy it myself. It is unlike the previous titles mostly due to the difficulty level. This is way easier then AC 2, 3, Silent Line, and Last Raven. The fact that it is not as challenging is great. It is an AC game that I can just jump into and not really worry about anything! This is the only armored core game that I have not cursed at thus far. If you want to play an AC game that does not stress you out, then try this title out. I do miss the old arena mode though. Not being able to challenge opponents right of the bat is kinda strange, but oh well. For hardcore retro gamers this is probably a huge let down, but for me it is a much more relaxed experience. *Update*: There are some problems with this game. First of all, why did the creators remove the save/load system from this game but not from previous titles? So instead of me loading the game from the options menu, I now have to get up and reset the entire system because I failed a mission. That is stupid. For anyone familiar with the AC series, we all know that playing a brand new mission the first time will most likely end in disaster. This game is not crazy hard like the other titles, but there are missions that require you to defend things from MT's with grenade launchers. Those kind of missions are going to require a couple of play throughs to get it right, and if I have to reset the system again and again while waiting through the loading screens, its going to get old really quick. I will say that the controls are tighter then on previous titles. It was almost impossible to utilize two ranged weapons at once with the old controller configuration. I am happy to say that I can now properly utilize two coach guns at the same time with ease (which makes for hilariously short AC fights). Update 2!: After finally making through the first disc (I am a full time college student) I can say that it is a solid 4 out of 5. The thing I enjoyed the most was the final boss. It provided the only real challenge of the game (funny how that works with other titles of this series, the game is either really difficult and the final boss is easy, or its the other way around). The second disc is so much fun. If you have the patience to get through the first disc and grab all of the hidden parts, then the second disc is a gold mine of over the top fun. You basically play through missions from previous titles and unlock AC features along the way. Going through the first disc was totally worth it to play the second one. Highly recommend you check it out if you enjoy the series.

its okay, for epileptic masochists on crack
Chances are you've already read about this whole entire series of games, and this one has the same main fault they all do: The strong point of the game is that there are hundreds (if not thousands) of parts to can use to custom assemble your very own giant robot which you then pilot in a series of missions. This extreme customizability is almost completely cancelled out (for regular people who are not AC addicts/fanz) by the fact that the mission briefings tell you nothing about what challenges you'll be facing, so you have little chance of assembling a robot that will fulfill the very narrow and very unforgiving mission challenges/objectives. This leaves you, the player, to play through each mission several times to figure out what the heck the optimal (or at least workable) configuration is. Then once you've assembled it, you then have to figure out the precise sort of seizure you must induce in yourself to pilot said robot to the end of the mission, against computer opponents who seem completely and inhumanly fast. If you liked, for example, MechWarrior3 and 4, this is probably not for you. Although they're giant robots, in this game they move like little girls on pogo sticks. And you will need a spreadsheet to properly configure a robot anyway, no joke, no LOL. The only way I played through this game was with the help of a well written FAQ/walkthrough found on the net, a perverse determination, and a deep seated affinity for giant robots. Even if they move like pogo sticks.
