Really surprised
To introduce, Ibought this on a whim.Swore a year ago after I sold a vast majority of my tools I would never buy another welder again. I have had a need for welding small projects around the house since I retired. I hired a mobile welder to do some basic repairs I know i could have easily done myself, but thought I didnt want to re-invest in high dollar equipment or even fool with it for an occasional weld. My thoughts was to just hire it done....no fuss and muss.I've had 4 welders in the past. Eveything from Lincoln to HF. I thought if i could find something to do some quick welding around the house for a low investment, it may be an option to buy myself yet another machine. l wasn't expecting much when this unit arrived and assumed I would be returning it after the first use.Actually, I am very impressed with what this little welder can do. It is so light and easy to use. Perfect for my needs. I'm very pleased with its performance. If your wanting to weld a trailer hitch for you RV this ain't the one you need. However, if you need a small, portable, lightweight, easy to use unit for gate repair, yard projects, mower repair, etc this is it. If you have a small generator its great for field work too. Perfect for a retired engineer and now a bored run-of-the-mill homeowner. Just my thoughts.....

Great machine! BUT could have better directions and specifications for beginners
This welder works great!! Previously, I returned this item because I thought it was faulty, but I was incorrect. Though, the directions should be better. I am a entry level with the very minimum knowledge on how to weld. I know nothing about welding (I thought a fuse blew or something shorted in the machine, but neither were corrrct). I did not realize the trigger had to be held to start contact. But in my opinion, this is a GREAT feature for beginners and it would have been helpful to know this before testing and returning for a new one. Either way, I figured it out and this welding machine works great! I would give 5 stars if the directions were more detailed but overall very happy so far

Great tool to have around the house
Bought this back in 2020, needed a welder ASAP to fabricate a bracket and I did not have time to mess around with gas in a mig setup. Since then, it's more than paid for itself just doing little jobs around the house. Some stuff I've done with it:~A bracket for dinghy-towing a car~repaired a metal lawn-sculpture thing for my wife~extracted a broken stud from my car by welding a nut on it~repaired the seat-slider bracket on an old car~welded up a crack in a shovel~Welded in some sheet metal to cover a rust hole in an old car~repaired a broken hinge on my fence~welded the mounting tab back on my wife's bike seat~Cut a turnbuckle in half as I needed it to be shorter, and then welded it back together.~and literally 5 minutes ago I welded the bracket of my computer chair back together from which I am now typing. If you have no idea how to weld, don't expect a full tutorial out of the box. But go on Youtube and you'll know enough to be sticking metal together in about 30 minutes. Be careful, welding can be hazardous if you aren't careful, it's not to be trifled with. Get proper protective equipment, know what is unsafe (for example, do NOT attempt to weld galvanized steel without first stripping the coating) and work in a safe environment. But if you know the basics of how to weld, this thing does a great job of repairing broken steel objects around the house.I now have a much nicer MIG welder in my garage, but I'm keeping this one around. It's portable and easy to store, flux core wire makes it way more convenient, and can make lay down some perfectly strong welds. The lack of adjustment means the welds will often not be ideal, but for little things that your life doesn't depend on, it does the job just fine.

Absolutely Incredible
I was blown away by how nice this thing welds. If you've never done flux-core before, the process is cleaner than straight CO2, but maybe a little more splatter than mixed gas. The current generation of flux core welding technology is on par with MIG in terms of performance and weld quality - nothing like the first generation welders that your local home improvement stores sold a few years back. You just have to remember to clean the welds before making a second pass - just like with stick. Still the splatter is very minimal, current flow is nice and steady, and it makes beautiful welds. In literally 10 minutes, I had it out of the box, wire loaded, and making welds. Absolutely incredible for $100. The torch is a bit on the small side but not bad - the small trigger takes a little getting used to with normal weight welding gloves. Has smooth infinitely adjustable current. Works on a standard 15A outlet. The ground is a little shorter than the gun hose (gun=6', ground=5') - a little short but not bad. The case looks to be 18 gauge steel and powder coated - very solid construction. Has adjustable pinch roller tension and spool friction. Comes with 1lb spool of .031 wire. I had no problem lap welding 1/4" plate with it at about 90A. The little brush tool it comes with is pretty cool - it's a combination brush/tomahawk/scraper, and works pretty good. I figure if this thing lasts long enough to use up half that spool, it will have easily paid for itself.
