Absolutely love these locking pliers. The lock and release system is awesome. I didn't even know there was an alternative until I purchased this set. Build quality seems great and the grips are perfect. As far as hand-tools are concerned I am sold on Irwin.---Update 5/28/16---I have now used these locking pliers a couple of times and as expected, they worked great and impressed. I had a stripped nut that I needed to grip. Adjusting the pliers to the right sized and locking on was easy and the hold was tight. Once clamped on removing the nut was no problem. Of course, the mechanics of the release system are just great. Very happy with this purchase.

I gave up on my bargain-basement vise-grip pliers. In fact, calling them "bargain-basement" is being too kind. They were difficult to adjust and difficult to unlock and just plain unwieldy.Not so with these pliers. In your hand they "feel" like a good, well-made, quality tool. Hefty and no rough edges. The rubber grips are a pleasure to hold. And best of all, they unlock with one hand. Keep your thumb in place, slide your fingers under the handle and press outward against the handle and they release. Nice.Get these for yourself or someone you like. You'll be thanking yourself for years.

I am a tool junkie. I am a firm believer, buy the best you can afford and you won't have to replace the item in a year.I have had vise Grips that are hard to release, hard to hold, don't hold, and are the wrong size.These are great. Well padded, well made, easy release.I'll have these forever. I'm glad I got them.

Works Great. I was always a Big Vise Grip guy. These great.. Just as good as the brand Name Vise Grip and they are so much easier to release the lock on the object your working on. Now I need to get the larger size. Good Bye Vise grip. I am getting the Irwins....

Great locking pliers. I especially like the elimination of the middle release lever which was always problematic. Good locking, good grips, sturdy construction. Would buy them again and hope they don't discontinue this style.

Tools work easily and reliably. The bag they come in is a nice touch and help keep things organized.

These vise grips are extremely useful!! I use them in almost every project I complete at my home (pulling out screws, etc). I have always been impressed with the quality of Irwin tools in the past, and these tools seemed to be of good quality. These vise grips are very easy to open and close, and they hold tight. The serrated teeth on the jaws provide good gripping. The 2 larger tools in this set are great, but the smallest 5R vise grip tool keeps falling apart (the spring falls out), and that tool does not seem to be made as well or in the same way that the larger tools are. I went for the full range. I like to do things myself because I'm tired of asking and also tired of looking where the guys left there tools. I like to keep things in one place and go right to it. I picked these three size pliers and they come with a hanging tool bag. I reach in and pick the size I need and its simple and they work. I mean they work. The grip is solid but easy on the hand. I've used them often and I'm very satisfied.
