Incredible quality, so cute!!
These chopsticks are incredible. They are cute, slim, but fit nicely in the hand. They even have a texture at the end of the chopsticks so when you pick up food, it grips nicely and the food doesn’t slip off. The prints are unique and pretty. And THE PRICE!!! Amazing. I'd definitely buy from this brand again!

Lovely laquer
I'm truly not sure what the others mean by a peculiar smell and "sandpaper tips". It's classic lacquered chopsticks. The bottom/rough side makes it easier to hold onto slippery foods like egg and noodles and it's something that's common with what I find here at Asian stores. If you actually examine them you know that the actual bottom/tip is smooth like it's supposed to. I bought these because I thought they were lovely and they really are. The art at the top of each consists of beautiful colors (my favorites are the crane and the sakura). They smell like regular lacquer-ware going back to the smell. I'm not sure if the others are used to a lot of Chinese and Japanese products but my boyfriends family brought a lot of stuff back with them when they came here from Japan and this just goes very well with it all.

These are great. Aesthetically
These are great. Aesthetically, are also very nice. They are very comfortable, and are an overall smooth chopstick with the exception of the gritty end, serving as a grip for food. Which isn't as bad as some of these reviews make it sound. It is similar to sandpaper, but has a coating over it that makes the tips feel smoother than sandpaper would. It it isn't that rough to the touch, and do not harm your teeth. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

A good set of chopsticks
So I pulled the whole American thing, I guess. I bought these to use as hair sticks because they were professional looking, and the right price. They work great, actually. They are very sturdy and the lacquer does not rub off or stain. They have been roughed on the ends, so if you are looking for long-use chopsticks for dining, do consider these.

Great edition to my party!
I really like the Bamboo Chopsticks Gift Set! They looked great at my Asian-themed party, and I used them as favors for the event. They are lightweight and easy to clean, and there was no peeling or cracking in the finish.

Beautiful and solid
I bought these for my niece. She is studying Japanese culture and wanted to use chopsticks with some of the food she was learning to prepare. They are sturdy and have a good weight - not too heavy or too light. I am a little concerned that the finish may not last as it feels like a laquer finish. For occasional use, these will be fine. I would not recommend abrasive cleaning or dishwasher. I think hand washing will preserve the finish.

You'll never use those freebie chopsticks again.
Beautifully decorated and cleverly designed, my kids and I appreciated the lightly textured tips which improve the grip of the tapered sticks. I disagree with other reviews that claimed they felt like sandpaper or were in any way overly rough. Many 1-star reviews are older. My sticks are great, the artwork is distinctive without being overwhelming, and with five unique patterns, everyone has their own favorite. Easy to hand wash.

used as hair sticks (not the flounder)
I have a lot of hair, and good, solid hair sticks are hard to find. Upon the suggestion of another reviewer, I used a pencil sharpener to shorten these down and they work really well as hair sticks!! They have yet to break and I ask a lot of them, so they must be sturdy. They are real wood (not plastic), and 4/5 designs are beautiful. This set includes: 1 ocean scene, 2 floral designs, 1 dragonfly in the moon light, and 1 flounder. I'm not sure where the flounder came from but I won't be putting it in my hair, and will use it for a "special guest" as the packaging suggests. For a flounder, it's alright: there are blue highlights around his weird little body, but I still don't think he fits into the set. The chopsticks do have textured ends. I tried using a set to eat with before I chopped them down for hair accessories, and the sandpaper tips were probably designed to help, but they are an inconvenience. I love the four sets as hair sticks: they are beautiful and reliable! I'm giving these 3 stars because as-is, they really aren't good for anything. It's either the worst chopstick ever, or you shave it down four inches until it works perfectly in your hair. And save the flounder set for a giggle.
