Desperate times call for desperate measures
In the book’s introduction, Emily Kyle writes, “Those who are truly suffering from an autoimmune condition triggered by hidden food sensitivities find the most relief the quickest.” How does less than 24 hours sound? It sounds unlikely but it is true. Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s by my dermatologist in 2012, I was urged to go GF early on. Luckily, new processed GF products were popping up all the time so I availed myself to the bread and the muffins and the rolls and the cookies and the cakes and the pies and the prepared frozen meals. It happened so covertly that I didn’t correlate my condition, (growing depression, fatigue, joint and other body pain including severe sciatica that neither chiropractor I saw could resolve) with my diet. I had educated myself about the GF, AIP and Paleo diets years ago and decided that I didn’t need to go all drastic because with the GF diet my antibodies dropped dramatically to normal range. Eventually, cracks started to form. I noticed food sensitivities that I had not before: tomatoes, dairy, lettuces, spicy food, and finally my husband’s homemade chicken soup!😩 Nothing was agreeing with me anymore! About one week ago and I decided to go on a GF BRAT diet. That didn’t agree with me either. I felt like my guts were on fire! From BRAT? I was done. I stopped eating and drank water only for two days. During that time I discovered this cookbook and bought the Kindle version so I could have it immediately. The recipes looked and sounded so yummy I couldn’t wait to be done with my fast! So yesterday I used the food list and ate AIP food that I had on hand all day. No gut disturbances whatsoever, in fact great improvement!! Today I went shopping for ingredients and made the chimichurri sauce over filet and the garlic lemon kale. Both were yummy!! I would eat that chimichurri sauce with a spoon and put it on anything. It is one of those haunting flavors that will remind itself to me randomly and I will crave it. My sciatica is nearly pain free, my digestion is better that it has been for a long long while and my energy is off the chart! I am a bit hesitant to get my hopes up for a new lease on life, but if I have anything to do with it, and I do, I will stick to the AIP as a foundation and try off-list food as I feel comfortable and confident doing so. I am so grateful for this amazing change in my physical, mental, and emotional condition. Thank you Emily Kyle! You changed my life! And I get to eat delicious food that won’t harm me anytime I want!☺️

a practical success plan for navigating hashimotos
creative recipes with normal ingredients. fabulous educational section in the beginning. I really enjoyed the meal plans as well. There is a lack of photos of each dish so it is not as pretty to the eye as it could have been but overall I think this is 100% worth the money for all the information in this book.

Well thought out book. I wish more countries count alternatives were listed throughout for those with allergy. I’d buy again.

Recipes taste great!
Love this book! Every recipe has been great so far! Would be much better if there was a picture for each recipe but still a great book. Very informative and very impressed with how good the recipes taste.

Not enough recipes
I already had bought the Hashimot's Protocol and got all the research information from that book. And for those of you who say that cruciferous veggies are not 'allowed' that is a TOTAL MYTH. You need to read the Hashimoto's Protocol book and understand why it's perfectly okay to eat cruciferous veggies. I'm tired of reading that myth everywhere I go. Hashimoto's is due to antibody attacks, not a lack of iodine. Two completely different causes. Hashimoto's swings from hyper to hypothyroidism over a lifetime. They key is controlling inflammation. As far as this cookbook is concerned there are very few recipes to make up a varied mealplan over a year. It's going to take me a number of resources to gather enough recipes for variety. There are only 10 breakfast recipes. And since turkey and eggs and potatoes are okay to eat, and things like coconut and gluten free pancakes are okay, I prefer real breakfast food to 'plaintain porridge' which sounds gross. There are enough side dishes. The only other thing is religious considerations. There are far too many pork recipes and shellfish recipes in this book. The amount of beef recipes is overkill, as red meat is not the best for a diet in the first place. I will be substituting a lot of the meats for just chicken instead. I am happy with the variety of ideas with the side dishes in the book at least, which will comprise most of my diet I believe. For me, the three best points of the book is that the amount of side dish recipes/having new ideas, the lists of what ingredients and staples to put on the grocery list without having to go through all the recipes to make my own list, and lastly, the serving sizes with the macro nutrients listed, which is really important to make sure I'm eating enough calories or not overdoing it for weight concerns, as well. Overall pleased with the new resource, but there are too few recipes. I'd love to see a book that is full of 30-100 recipes for each category all in one book. That would be even better.

Amazing Recipes!!
I was so worried I wouldn’t find recipes I even remotely liked for my elimination phase. I’m fairly picky. But I like almost every recipes in here! I don’t eat pork or beef so I can’t speak to those but everything else has been perfect!
