Q: How do i turn on the sensor voice activation recording? i need a detailed explanation asap, please.

I get the impression (after reading issues here more closely) that the item I bought is not the same that was here in the past. What I bought is a small square recorder (16GB 1160hours) that looks like a SmartWatch. I noticed many questions talk about an SD card, and this has no room for that, nor mentioned anywhere. That said, as to AVR. you have to drill down into the Settings menu to turn on AVR (or what I would have called VOX). I also tested it, it works 90%. One test I did was to say out loud 1 2 3 4 5, then count but skip 6 7 8 9, then pick up again 10, 11, etc. It cut off the last numbers like 5 and 15 I did the test again with 1 2 3, 7 8 9, etc. It was perfect. So it has a threshold, which may or may not work well. Hope this helped.

Q: How would this cope with loud sounds like shouting? Would it be distorted?

I haven't had any problems with this device I actually like it a lot! I can't say that I have tested with a lot of loud noise going on in the background but definitely noise was going on. I have recorded while tv and other things going on and find my voice quality still good. Hope this helps!

Q: what decibel (db) can this start recording at?

I don’t understand the question! But it has a level reading to show how much sound is actually being accepted. So you can how well it is picking up sounds

Q: Does password protect from hearing the device itself without a password or password only protect from hearing device on pc?

The password Is suppose to stop anyone from turning it on if they happen to pick it up
