It's been a while, but I don't think it came with a nail file. I still use this scissors. It's been 5 years already and still works great

I don't see why not! I cut my own nails with these scissors a couple times :-) no sharp edges though so keep that in mind. You'll be able to trim the nails but not cut the cuticles.
