I have gotten a number of mechanical timers, which you may think is odd, but I have to watch my son's house while he is on 3 month assignment. So I bought a number of these to do his lamps at his house, so the place looked lived in, since I live a half hour away and be there daily. These are the best I've bought, and the easiest to use. They come with instructions, which is great, since apparently I was doing it wrong with the others, pushing things down when they should have been up. Anyway, it explains it. You don't have to "program" it, per se, just push the little notches up or down. And I've seen the lamps lighting and turning off at the house, so these work well. Which is saying something, since the others I had were more complicated, and never seemed to work. Coulda been me not understanding how to program them, I give you, but these WORK, so I'm in favor of that, no matter what the problem may be. The timer is excellent, even though it is only "programmable" by the house. But when I come by, I change it, and it's easy to change, so things start an hour earlier or an hour later, just to make the times variable, so again, the house looks lived in. These are cheaper than buying a used car to park in the driveway, so I'm psyched. A+ items. Should probably have a few more so I can do all the lights in the house. The brightness depends on the lamp you use them on, so that's not an issue. And they seem very durable, since there are no computer bits to work on, or batteries to charge, etc. Simple technology that works well. A+ from us. And love that you get a 2-pack, so you can put one upstairs, one down, or in 2 different rooms. Feel like they are keeping his house safe.

I don't need accuracy to the minute or second each day. I don't know if the dial can even be turned with that sort of precision with the human hand. The device is designed for 30 minute increments. The device works very well for me. It keeps time and is simple and easy to use. I can make adjustments very easily as needed. My devices are quiet. I would purchase again.

Works great, but they’re loud. One night, we were just reading with no fans or TV on and I could hear a grinding like noise. I looked and looked, and found it was this timer running. Other than that it’s a great timer and good value.

We use this timer for our fish tank light and it’s been great. Super easy to set up and keeps the lighting on a consistent schedule, which makes a big difference for the tank. Nice little gadget for a non-worries Christmas. Its setting is pretty straightforward and works like a charm. It's also great that comes in a pack of 2.

The BN-LINK BND-60/U47 Indoor Mini 24-Hour Mechanical Outlet Timer, 3-Prong, 2-Pack is exactly what I needed for my grow lights. Many of the automatic timers only have a 2 prong plug in and these have 3 prong so my lights can daisy chain together and my plants will be thrilled. They seem to be a good quality timer and easy to install. We will see how well they keep their time retention over the course of a month and hope that the lifespan is long. They are much more tiny than I anticipated and that is fine as long as the timer works well. Just what I needed for happy plants. These would work well to set up a lamp or a TV to come on when you are not home too.

Update: I plugged in something else with manual on/off switch, and it turns that on just fine. My plant light has a button and if it loses power, it has to be turned on again. So the timer works the way it should. It just won't work with plugs that can't be "always on" I got a plant light for my indoor plant, and got this so I wouldn't forget to turn it on/off. The problem is, it won't turn on my plant light! I have to turn it on manually. Three stars because at least the timer will turn it off. I went through all the troubleshooting steps and it still won't turn it on. I will try a different brand and hope I have better luck

I purchased these timers about six months ago. They turn lights on and off as promised, however the mechanical clock makes a small amount of noise all the time. I heard an unidentified noise and it took me until a couple of weeks to discover it was coming from the timers. I have replaced the timers and my house is quite again.

Easy to set on/off times. Built in pegs allow for many on/off settings, no parts to misplace. Working with no issues, very pleased. No complicated set up instruction like the electronic timers I have those also they keep switching from auto position to on position??? I like the manual style much better.

Instructions were very clear and easy to follow which made this timer very easy to set up. Literally a minute or less. Push down the pins for the time that you want it be on and the turn the centre dial to the current time. Way easier to set than the one it is replacing! It is sturdy and feels like good quality and worked perfectly the first time I plugged it in. It's completely silent I love that it has 2 spots for plugs although I am currently only using one. It has shown to be very accurate over the last few days and it was a totally worthwhile purchase. I'm very happy with it.
