FINE FOR MY APPLICATION
I needed a material to attach mineral crystals to a small vertical surface, while providing good thermal conductivity. I had used candle wax, but that is an insulator. This alloy melts even lower than the wax, but has much higher conductivity. It was a harder material than I expected, but still easy to shave off flecks with a razor blade or knife. The only drawback was that it hardly 'wets' anything, but I could push around the liquid droplets to embed my samples. When cooled, they stayed put. Also, while firmly holding the metal disk to shave off pieces, my skin darkened somewhat. That washed right off. Normal handling seemed to be no problem, but wear a glove for long, tight contact.

We used this for a student independent study project and it was very useful. Much better deal direct from roto, however.
