Great replacement. However it doesn’t come with screws.

This is made to be screwed into something solid and screws are not included. It will not work with a balsa core, honeycomb core or foam core because the screws will pull right out when you try to open the door. This can not be through-bolted because two of the bolts from the latch side line up with the metal plate for the outside knob (which is about the only metal part on this thing and is almost impossible to drill through). If you have a marine door like mine with lightweight core, try using a stainless fender washer instead of the plate for the outside knob.

If you’re replacing your old metal marine door latch with this one, you need to know that this one is made of plastic (as stated in the product description) and doesn’t come with the mounting screws.That said, the product works just fine. However, at $45 you may feel a bit swindled when you see what you’re getting.

I seriously shopped for this product and ended up ordering two: One was less than half the price of this product and made completely out of metal with all the parts in the delivery. This product came without screws, including a critical tiny set screw in the handle (fortunately I'm a screw guy and was able to find one). Not only did it come with missing parts, it feels like plastic. It's lightweight and flimsy.

Very nice latch for the money. Easy to adjust for different door styles. Would highly recommend for light duty door use.

This is really cheaply made. The strike looks like metal but is actually plastic and will not hold up. No instructions or installation template included.
