Q: does it also have the option to have batteries?

Only as a back up for if the mains go off. It won't run on batteries on there own.

Q: my alarm clock is in the wrong time zone can i do anything about this with the mode setting ????

All I had to do is set the time through following the instructions. There wasn't a different time zone on mine.

Q: how do you decrease the brightness I’ve lost the manual

Manual Dimming - Hold button 2 until "off" displays. Button 2 will now change brightness.

Q: does it always need to be plugged ?

You could unplug it but you would have to reset it everyday.
