Q: Are they lead and BPA free?

I lLOVE THE. ALSO GREAT FOR SLOPING EDITORS OR DRATING TABLES. STOP THINGS FROM SLIDING, INCLUDING TABLETS, LAPTOPS. Dunno composition of Silicone. But hopefully you aren’t putting food directly ON it. I love them, and also use on trays to stop stuff from sliding.

Q: I feel stupid but which side goes up? The flat side or the bumpy side?

My opinion is that the bumpy side goes up. But it's your preference! :) I started flipping mine over because the smooth side is way easier to clean.

Q: Do these stain (ex: spaghetti sauce)?

No. You just wipe them down. I have spilled red sauce and it has not stained. Very durable product.
