That's kind of the point: the chain will rip through just about anything (or if it can't, it'll launch itself into your face); these kinds of gloves are designed to tear apart in long fiber strands, which get sucked into the mechanism and jam up the gears. The blade then stops. Then you disassemble your chainsaw and untangle the gears (and get new gloves).

Right hand that pulls the gas trigger dont have any chainsaw protection
