It works well.
I was skeptical at first but I am happy since I started using it. Have saved a lot in haircuts since then.

Problem Solved!
I started cutting my own hair about a year ago when it started taking my barber about five minutes to set his electric razor to "2" (very short) and shave my mostly bald head. Seemed like something I could do myself, and it was. But the back of the neck was always a problem. Then I ran across this simple solution. Problem solved. There are two in the package -- one larger, one smaller. I'm a skinny guy with a skinny neck, so the small one works for me. Because I cut my hair so short, I cannot speak to how it works with longer hair (making sure your hair is laying the right direction under the band, cutting upward or downward). Once I have it in place using a hand mirror to look at the back of my head in the wall mirror, I hold it in place with one hand so that it doesn't shift (per directions) and shave down from the bottom edge. I have also shaved up to it without the razor ever cutting it. The line looks great to me and definitely better than what I was doing free-hand.

Awkward
I don't think I will be using this again. I found it to be extremely awkward and am thinking it requires a 2nd person to do the actual cutting.

What a surpirse
It's such a silly idea. And it works.I was surprised at how well it works.I no longer go to a barber. I do my sides with a number 2 and my top with a number 3. I'm always concerned about how the back of my neck looks. No one ever says anything, and I can't see it. So all I can do is be concerned. After doing my first groom job with this stencil, I actually had people compliment me and ask if I just had my haircut. I guess that's a win.Either that, or the back of my neck looked much worse than I could have ever imagined.

Simply Good !!
I've cut my own hair, my kids, and a couple of the neighbor’s hair for years. In attempting to get that straight line the first method I used was painters blue tape, it worked, but not very good because clippers and razors get caught-up in it. A couple of years ago I came up with this idea as well and constructed a template with thin plastic and held it in place with a sweat band. It served the purpose although the plastic was harsh on the head and not very flexible (it finally cracked). I came across this item inadvertently while looking for a new set of clippers. This is way better than my inventions, works great, and I’ll bet we get several hair trims out of them. A guy can putter around and try to put something together or just save the hassle and purchase these; they are simple and will work fine.

Two Stars
I purchase this about a year ago. I started trimming my neck for a month and was so frustrated with it that I was about to throw it in garbage. So, in my initial review after a month of use I said that it was not functional.I left it in my bathroom cabinet for few months but then decided to give it a try one more time. This time I paid a bit more attention and spent more time on how to utilize this device. After a few attempts I finally got a hang of it. Now I feel much more comfortable with it and I use it more and I am getting better as well.It gives me a nice clean hair line on my neck that is straight and well trimmed. Is it like a line a pro in barbershop does for you? Definitely not. But it is good enough for me; given, I save the time and money I must spend to go to barber every two weeks.Overall I rate it four and think it is a good tool to have for any guy. Just remember it needs some time, patience and practice to make the best result from it.

Not really that great. Too wide and the two sizes aren't really that different.
Really wanted to like this product, but I've found it unhelpful. Even the small strap is pretty wide, which just gave me a look like someone had run a very straight lawnmower up my neck and then awkwardly stopped. Still wooly and untamed on the sides but perfectly shaven below a perfectly straight line. I was really hoping this would help me curve the neckline, as the photo looks a bit curved, but it doesn't. I'm about average sized (6'2, and wear a 16" neck dress shirt...so not too far off average) so it's not as if it's a result of a pencil neck on my part. Wish I had saved my $15 and just had my partner continue cleaning up my neckline when I buzz my head. Oh well - I've saved way more than that on haircuts in the last year anyway!
