Excellent tool. Does just what it is supposed to!
This measuring tool works really, really well. It easily opens and closes. I sew and used it to mark the button holes and button locations on 7 shirts I was making and it saved me a tremendous amount of time. I cannot believe I hadn't bought this years ago. This tool works beautifully. I had bought a cheaper tool like this for half the price and it was junk. I was able to open it one time and never close it again. It was truly as waste of money. However, this excellent tool, Point 2 point MK2 will be with my sewing tools and passed on to grandchildren.

M Power Point to Point
This tool is so simple to use. It’s a time saver trying to figure out spacing for whatever piece you are working on. Just be careful not to extended it all the way out because it’s difficult to get back in.

Nice tool
Great for marking off even spacing. Only thing negative I could say is I wish that the ends were pointed for me. It would make it a little easier to mark the dividing points. One last thing. It is well made.

M-Power P2P and Trend M/P2P are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL!!!
M-Power P2P and Trend M/P2P are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL!!! Even the package is identical with only the paper inserts differentiating between the brands. Buy the cheapest version of these two and you will be happy. I will try to add photos later, but here’s my test/review of both version. Personally, I bought both and returned the most expensive after my comparison. First, I’d use either the short edge or “V”/90-degree cut-out, but all three points (Long, Short, V) were 132mm between all 7-arms at full extension. The “Old Version” had trouble, the long edge was 1/8” to 3/16” off from point 1-2 to points 6-7; but the ”New Version” edges were within 0.5mm(1/50”) between all points at full 32” extension (132mm between each set of points). Manufacturers recommend a functional “full extension” of 28”/711mm; I was able to get a full extension of 31-3/4”/806mm, but would personally recommend max 30”/770mm. The further you extend the scissors the get more flexible/flimsy and tend to get wedged/lock in position. Although, at 806mm all small edges were still within 0.5mm. For 99% of users this accuracy is great. For those who demand/need greater than 0.5mm or 1/50” over 30” length, then this $35 item is NOT for you. If you need accuracy within 1/100” or nano-meters then plan on spending $300-500 or more. For the rest of us, these items work great. Measured against each other; both Trend and M-power show no difference between them at each parking point. Final note, make sure you lock it down BEFORE you begin to mark. Failure to do so will lead to self-created errors due to operator error/failure. Enjoy and Cheers!

Keep in mind what it is and you will love it
I've read a number of reviews criticizing the accuracy of this tool. And no, it is not dead on accurate. But for my needs, basically providing enough accuracy to make the unassisted human eye think a number of things are distributed evenly in some space, it works just fine. If I need thousandths level accuracy, I will use a more appropriate tool(s). My only complaint is the design of the knobs and the knobs themselves. It does take a hurculean effort to lock this thing down, then another to loosen the thing again.

Gadget Affectionatist
I cut down many sizes of wood to maximise the wood supply that I have. I have used many "home made" tools to insure I was dividing the wood into equal sections to improve the appearance and construction of my projects. Needless to say, many of these items did not measure up. With point 2 point there is no more mistakes or errors. I love this tool . . . quality made . . . easy to use, and consistently on the money!. A great addition to any woodworkers tool box.

Havn;t used it that much as just don;t like the feel of the knobs, and their locking.
When for a one job tool it probally excels, but the knobs just seem to stick when I turn to set the item. As far the the overall quality it is very good, and really does the job that it set. Maybe nitpicking on the knobs, but seem they slide some so not 100 percent confident they ate locked in, and then have to worry about stripping.

accurate
I found it to be accurate consistently within about 1mm on the larger spreads. At the narrowest, You might have to adjust it a little by hand before locking it. I first bought the other one, that has the vertical parts, and it was so bad it was unusable. I guess the simpler design, with fewer moving parts and tighter construction, makes this one better? If you need aerospace accuracy, there is another one that is about $60 that is probably more accurate. I am definitely keeping this one.

Sturdier than I expected.

It seems easy enough to measure even divisions when woodworking, but for some reason I always seem to mess it up. This little tool has come in handy again and again. You won't need it every day, but you'll be glad you have it when you do.
