ESTWING Rock Pick - 22 oz Geological Hammer with Pointed Tip & Shock Reduction Grip - EO-22P, Orange

I bought this a a gift for my son who asked for it. I've had my own Estwing rock hammer for 35 years. They are well weighted, well made and a joy to use. To be honest I don't think I'd consider any other make. It's a considered purchase but worth the money. It's comfortable to use and has a nice grip. The orange handle makes it easy to spot once youve put it down too.

Speeds up work a lot

No complaints at all. Nicely balanced in the hand, not too heavy and very little recoil.If you’re considering getting this for splitting, don’t. I did try, but as it says on the head, for prying only, and for the at it is excellent, otherwise buy a different hammer (with a flat edge instead of pointed) or buy a chisel.

Quality

I use it for testing how thick metal is on rusty steel boats. Hit it and see if you can make a hole. If you make a hole, hit round the hole till you stop making holes. That's where you cut out the old metal and replace with new metal. Simple.

Great hammer for fossil hunting

This is actually a very good hammer but I'm only giving it three stars due to the fact that the manufacturers show it being worn in a holster which would be a very useful accessory, no mention is made of the fact that the hammer does not come with the holster I really dislike this type of false advertising. I would rather the hammer cost a couple of pounds more and actually included the holster pictured, not happy.
