The Baldur's Gate Collection (EU)

This is probably my favorite PC game ever. I have played both games, both expansions so many times. Every time you change things up even a little bit - different class for your PC, different party members, NO party members, taking different options in dialogue - you see something new. And the dialogue! Some of the best writing you'll ever see in a game. And none of that includes the wealth of third-party mods. If you have a short attention span and feel like something's missing when your screen isn't splattered with gore, this is not the game for you. This is a long, intricate, beautifully-written plot, with great replay value even after you know all the twists. My only problem with the BG series is my tendency to misplace a disk, and with them now on DVD and neatly packaged together even this is no longer an issue.

I never had the chance to play these games so I ordered them about a month ago, I have a new pc with Win 7 so I was worried about being able to get this game running on a new pc after reading so many forums where people were having trouble. I installed the 1st game in less than 5 minutes and it worked on the 1st try and has worked everytime since with no problems!!! Works perfect on my new Windows 7, there are a couple of draw backs, the game no longer supports updates or even the manual so you will have to dig around online if you want that stuff as well, I never played these games so a manual would make it so so much easier. All and all I'm very happy with the purchase and I am very much enjoying the games.

I have been playing this game for almost a year and have only started the second of the four dvds. There are so many things to do and places to go. I would recommend reading a walkthrough for this game. This is a very good game to learn how to play mage. I have never played as a mage before, but to be competetive in this game one of your characters will need to use spells.

This is a great nostalgic trip down memory lane to play.

I honestly wasn’t able to play the game as setting up a character was so difficult and complex, however, if you are very familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, you will love it.

QUICK SHIP AND WAS AS DESCRIBED

I had the original Baldur's Gate II discs and been playing it so I decided to buy this for the expansion and first Baldur's Gate. After installing it on my computer I found numerous problems. The game repeatedly froze and would ask for me to insert the program disc when changing screens but would not recognize the discs. It simply doesn't work. I tried to uninstall and start over and same problem. Tried various levels of install from minimum to custom nothing worked. Waste of money.

If you were ever one of those people who loved the pen and paper version of dungeons and dragons you owe it to yourself to pick up these games. They are STILL the best role playing games. With this collection you will have countless hours of entertainment (100+ hrs easily). The storyline of this series is one of the best. graphically, it is dated, but still works on a Windows 7 64bit OS. I've had no issues with the games and they still to this day run flawlessly. BG1 is available on [...] for $[...] USD digitally, but I prefer a hard copy of these games. Amazon was quick on delivery and I had no issues in the packaging.

I used to play these games over and over back in 1998-2002. The baldur's gate series is fantastic and the gaming platform is one I enjoy. The updates to Baldur's Gate 2 make playing Baldur's Gate 1 again a little difficult. There were many improvements to gameplay. Thankfully, someone came up with Baldur's Gate TuTu. Look it up! It allows you to put Baldur's Gate 2's system updates onto Baldur's Gate 1. The biggest issue I have with this particular set is that I haven't been able to install it on my computer yet. For Baldur's Gate 1, when I put the game in, the load up screen appears. When I click on install, nothing happens. I'm still looking into it. I already had Icewind dale installed on my computer. When I put the expansion disk in (from the same type of compilation format BG is in), it plays. So I believe these disks work, I just don't know if installing BG on Windows 7 is the issue, my netbook, or the disks themselves.

LE meilleur des RPG sur PC, mais même remarque qu'Anthony : seulement 2 DVD au lieu de 4, les 2 extensions sont manquantes ! J'attends une réponse de DVDMAX à ce sujet.

Conozco el juego desde hace mucho tiempo . Uno de esos juegos que no puede faltar en la estantería de los que nos gusta el RoL PuRo. Quería recuperarlo para rememorar viejos tiempos y no podía faltar en mi colección . Mala suerte la mía cuando al parecer se perdió el pedido pero agradezco la atención al cliente ya que ha sido excelente y enviaron uno nuevo inmediatamente que ha llegado hoy. Paz y tranquilidad para mi pero no igual para mi ordenador jejejeje.
