Brighter but not too bright, not too hard to install
(This was on a 2021 Rav4 XLE Premium hybrid) These are brighter than stock overall, but not blinding. I wanted lights I could turn on while driving at night and not be distracted, but actually see in the nooks and crannies at night, unlike the horrible lights that come stock. These are about as bright as the stock vanity mirror lights, which are the brightest interior lights, only a clean white. The other stock lights were dimmer, and these are a nice improvement. And the color is SO much better. You might want a little brighter cargo light, but the dome light shines into most of the cargo compartment, too, and this light is still an improvement. Get a cheap set of plastic trim tools or try the included tool, which seems pretty soft but might be adequate. Look for a YouTube video for each light, watch it, then pry away. Apparently unless you have the panoramic, not the regular, moonroof, you should be able to pry off just the covers of the map lights, not take out the whole console. I did just the covers and I have the regular moonroof. Pry from the inside edge. They will come out with some effort, sounding like they broke, but won't be broken. For the vanity lights, pry from the left side of each, push the tool straight in pretty deep and you'll push the white plastic tab out of the way, dropping the left half of the cover far enough to switch out the bulb. The dome light should pop right off if you pry the cover just a little. Don't pry under the bead around the cover, just the cover. It should pop off. The cargo light assembly is easy to pry out, but you need to remove the gray plastic cover on the inside. Once you've popped the assembly out, pull the assembly out enough so you won't lose the wire in the hole, and unplug the white plug, Then take a tiny slotted precision screwdriver and scrape down the little plastic nub at the back of the gray cover through the little hole, enough to get the cover past it, push out the tabs on both sides, and pry it off. There's a video by Morozov Automotive that shows this. For all the lights, check that they work before you reinstall the covers. If they don't work, flip them around 180 degrees. Don't forget that the vanity light switch will go off if the visor is moved too far toward the windshield. If for some reason you do break a cover, just get a replacement from your Toyota dealer, but I doubt you will need to if you pay attention. These LEDs will dim on and off just like stock. Don't suffer with those awful dingy, faint orange stock bulbs. Hopefully Toyota will wake up and start putting LEDs in their new cars.

Bright white light, huge improvement over original Toyota bulbs. But hire an expert to do this job!
Great bulbs. Bright white light is a giant improvement over the dim yellow bulbs that Toyota put in. Interior of the car is no longer gloomy. I no longer have to carry a flashlight in the glovebox to read maps. But installation is VERY difficult and time-consuming. If you are an impatient amateur prone to swearing in frustration, these are not for you. In its 2,567-page owners manual, Toyota gives no guidance whatsoever on any bulb-changing. And the seller of the bulbs provides no instructions, which is understandable because they would be the length of Moby Dick. In the olden days, you would snap off the bulb cover, unscrew the old bulb, screw in a new bulb and be done with it. The only easy bulb to change on my RAV4 is in the trunk. The vanity lights, map lights (you have to pry out the entire large black housing!) and rear dome light are a complex mystery and it is easy for the brittle plastic housings to break, leaving the bulb housings dangling loosely, hanging by their wires. You know that replacement parts are expensive. YouTube videos are sparse and vague — and one YouTube “expert” admits that he damaged the map light housing while installing the bulbs. I worked on this for several hours and somehow managed to get the job done without major damage (one of the old bulbs shattered tiny pieces of glass all over my face as I was removing it). To replace the license plate bulbs, you need a pliers to twist the housing out. If you are a regular person, even if you have been changing car bulbs all of your life, take these to your dealer or mechanic and pay them to install these wonderful bulbs!

Led lights
What a difference . These LED interior lights work great. I replaced all interior lights, I didn't replaced license plate lights. I found it a little difficult to replace.

Super!
I am the LEAST skilled at DIY projects and these were pretty easy to replace. I found a couple of YT videos that helped. I worried about breaking plastic tabs but everything was good. The finished result was what I hoped for - very clean, bright light. Total project time was maybe 20-30 minutes. Well worth the time and money.

RAV 4 - 2016 - FULL REVIEW
Work fine, I would say "go ahead". Just a few comments: - Other brands are much brighter. - They do a little blink while (in the process of) being dimmed (positive side they do not make any buzz / humm noise when dimmed, other brands do, happened to me in the past). - For the trunk this seems to be better, but not enough power. - On the license plate they improve the light for the back up camara during night. - Original bulbs fit much tighter than these ones.. I wonder if this will be a problem in the future with year to come of vibration, temperature change, etc. Hope this helps.

Couldn’t use all of them
My 2019 RAV4 does not have accessible license plate lights. The instruction said there is an access panel, but there isn’t. I’ve read the lights are only totally replaceable, not just the bulb. It looks like you would have to take off the entire inside panel on the rear door to access the fixtures. At least I have a couple of spares. Anyway, all the rest of the bulbs were replaced with only minor effort. Just be sure to follow the instructions so as to not break any of the surroundings. They come with a plastic pry tool to assist. These brighten up everything just great. The original bulbs weren’t bright enough to do anything.
