Gov'T Mule

One of the best bands i have come across in years The Mule just class just brilliant cannot get enough of them 10 out of 10 another class album from a class act

A good band and as good as any of their other CDs

- superb early album (1995) from Warren and the guys, it is i think their debut but I cannot conform this is absolute fact. The fact that this early album has songs on it that are still played live (and this is where the band excel) is testament to quality of song-writting, and delivery. This has Woody on bass, who played with Warren in Allman Brothers Band so it certainly has a nostalgic justification for purchase as well as a musical one.I suspect that you have come here already knowing of the band, - so you may like me be just adding to your collection. Perhaps not the best album to introduce you to the band, - I would advise "By A Thread" or "Life Before Insanity" for that but this album has to be in your collection.It shows the diverse styles of Warren and the guys, - from almost jazz rhythms to riff heavy Black Sabbath style on one album, but do not think that this is a hotch-potch, - if you enjoy guitar based music then this will work for you. Enjoy it, I did.

I'm amazed that it's taken me this long to 'discover' Gov't Mule. What an ace band they are! On this, their first CD, they hit the ground running. Great musicianship from all 3 members with a superb guitar tone from Warren Haynes. I had read of their admiration for the 'power trios' of the late 60s but they are much more than just a re-creation of that Cream/Hendrix sound. There is a great range of material on this album, every track is a winner.

What more can you say about this group, apart from wanting more from them.

J'adore ces musicos qui joue bien gras le rockblues un peu heavy quand même . En concert c'est énorme et Warren est très généreux et simple , ils en donnent pour votre argent ... Tout leur talent est dans cette galette !

Dieses frühe Album der bis heute sehr aktiven Band Gov't Mule enthält astreinen Blues mit Rockelementen. Perfekt dargeboten, es passt einfach alles, bis zur Reibeisenstimme. In späteren Jahren und Jahrzehnten entwickelte sich ihre Musik eher Richtung Classic-Rock a la Deep Purple, aber in den Ursprüngen waren Gov't Mule sehr blueslastig. Mein liebstes Album der Band.
