Vandoren SR222 Tenor Sax Traditional Reeds Strength 2; Box of 5

It worked for me.

As usual for Vandorens, one reed in the box is fantastic, three are fine, and one is unusably bad. Consistency could be better, but variation between reeds is unavoidable, so it’s not worth complaining much. Sound quality is nice and rich, not too reedy, and 3 1/2s are firm without sacrificing dynamic expression or requiring unreasonable airflow. It can be a bit difficult to get low notes out on a fresh reed, but soaking them for a few minutes or just playing for a while to break them in fixes it. I’ve been using Vandorens for the last twelve years and I don’t see any reason to stop.

These blue box reeds did not perform well for me. However, the red box reeds did very well. If you've never tried Vandoren reeds before, try their variety pack. The variety pack has one of each of their reeds to help you find which works for you. I had great success with the red box Java reeds though.

Good reeds

You can always count on a Vandoren cane Reed. The key is to keep them humid. I put them in a small plastic box with a humid sponge and they last for months. I also use légère reeds but is is not the same sound.

Our High School band teacher recommended these for my son and we have used them ever since. They last a long time and good value for the money

Bought these because I want to learn to play a sax someday.....now all I need is a sax, lessons & time. But this is an excellent first step to learning!!

These reeds are basically my stock go-to for any instrument outside of my main instrument (clarinet). I know that they will always do what I need them to do, and that they won't gouge my wallet in the process. They are simple, and yet perfectly functional. Whether you use them for your main instrument or for a secondary instrument, I doubt that these reeds will let you down.

Niente da ridere, ance super rinomate. Le uso da una vita e mi son sempre trovato bene. Ogni tanto ne capita qualcuna che proprio non suona, ma fa parte del gioco.

Para mi que soi un novato estan muí bien lo recomiendo
