I wanted to bleach my hair for the first time to celebrate my birthday (quarter-life crisis?) and paid a ridiculous amount of money to do it at a salon. When my hair started growing out, I knew I wanted to bleach it again, but I wasn't willing to spend 1/2 of my rent to have someone else do it. I'm a male with shorter, light brown hair, and this worked perfectly. I was afraid that I would fry or dry out my hair, but it didn't. I recommend pairing it with a good toner to pull out any of the orange/yellow, but overall it was super simple to use and gave me the color I was looking for.

This product has brought me hope again to be able to color my hair! I have been using black box dye on my hair for over 6 years now because I couldn't find a way to get it out. I went to salons that have tried to charge me hundreds of dollars, most of them have said I may need to cut it out. I have tried other bleach "lower vol" that did NOTHING.... I was devastated. I came across this product, I've always LOVED this brand so I figured id give it a try and just hope for the best. 40 Vol is very bad for your hair so I was beyond nervous thats why I only did so little sections lol but after 2 bleaches (BACK 2 BACK) my hair is SOOOO soft and healthy. I left it on for 20 min first time and 15 the second time. I got amazing lift, more than i expected for sure. I will DEFINITELY be buying this again!

despite the thinness of my hair, one kit was not enough for my entire head + roots (two wasn't either LOL but all of my visible root was covered so i don't mind). this stuff is intense and not intense all at the same time - any parts that came in contact with my scalp or skin just itched mildly, and while the bleach started lightening my hair within minutes, my hair still felt quite soft even before coloring it and i've experienced zero bleach-induced breakage to my knowledge. my hair loss is the same as it was before bleaching. i will say i have been VERY gentle with my hair since bleaching it; i don't tug on knots to get them out or tie it up in a tight bun. i mean i didn't do those things before either, but now i'm definitely even more careful. i had someone else apply the product to my hair in rough sections, and some parts came out darker/more orangey than others. i dont think that's the fault of the product, i believe it's user error - i also want to note that i initially wasnt able to get all the developer out of the bottle before we started bleaching, and i ended up adding the last bits after most of my hair had already been bleached and it definitely made a BIG difference in how my hair processed. do ensure that you mix both products thoroughly for best results. my hair lightened much more quickly with the 2nd kit as i was very careful not to leave anything unmixed. i think 40 vol was a bit strong for my hair and i'll probably go for 30 vol next time. 40 just processed SO quickly on me - not sure if that's just the nature of the product or if the fineness of my hair also played some part in that. oh also! for the first round of bleach it took about an hour to cover 3/4ths of my head. i let it process another 40 minutes. after another few days the next kit came in, we finished bleaching the last 4th and i let that sit for 15 minutes, then we added a bit more bleach to the brassier parts of my hair that had been bleached in the days prior, let that sit for 10 minutes, then finally i did my roots and let that process for a final 15ish. if i were to do it over again on my virgin hair i'd probably get two kits, cover my mids and ends, let them process for 40 minutes, then do roots for another 10-15. bleach is very strong but i think if your hair is healthy and well cared for, and it's your first time bleaching it, 40-50 minutes isn't going to do as much damage as you might expect. my hair is absolutely dry and requires different care now than it did before, but that is also to be expected - bleach is chemical damage after all. but i don't think you should worry about all your hair falling out if it doesn't have any damage to begin with, i really think you're safe waiting just long enough for it to reach the level you're after before washing it out. i hope my review was helpful! my hair isn't perfect but i am really satisfied given that it was a first attempt, and i think this product was really user-friendly and easy to use. good luck giving it a try!

I naturally have dark brown hair, and have tried to bleach it before with poor results. I've left bleach on for a long time before, and could never get it to be really light. I used this and parts of my hair were blonde before I even got all of it covered! I was really impressed by how effective it was, and it left hardly any orange tint in my hair at all. My hair had been dyed multiple times and multiple colors before using this, and it came out a relatively uniform color in the end, despite not having enough product to saturate the ends. I was just lightening it to put another dye on it though, so it worked perfectly for that. My only complaint is that the product does not go very far. I bought two boxes because I have long hair, but I still ran out. If you have hair to your shoulders, buy two boxes. If it's any longer than that, buy three, especially if your hair is thick. I noticed the product dried out while it was sitting on my hair, and seemed to quit working. I just spritzed a bit of water on it and worked it through, and that seemed to do the trick. So if you're going to leave it on for awhile, make sure you check it every now and then and get it moist again if necessary. I got quite a bit of this stuff on my skin, and while it was uncomfortable, it didn't leave any permanent damage. Your mileage may vary, of course, but my skin was able to handle it okay.

Works really well and quickly

I use this product to keep up on my root growth. The package comes with everything you need to do a quick and mess free lightening at home. I have dark hair and one application gets it lighter than any other product I have tried. I will never use another brand again! Highly recommend!

This is by far some of the best fastest lifting bleach I don't have to really worry with yellow tone (as long as left on for right time) my hairs come out perfectly bleached, I must say I have hair longer than my shoulders length but very fine thin hair and definitely needed 2 boxes, if you have thick long hair I'd said atleast 3 boxes, I love the little cups and brushes that come with them too because I use sooo many different colors all the time and have used all the extra cups and extra little brushes I've saved from buying this box set and they have really come in handy !!!

It was my first time using this product and it didn't hurt as bad as i initially thought. It was able to turn my hair from black to really light blonde in two sessions! You can actually only use one box for two or three bleaching sessions if you have hair similar to a REALLY short, almost buzzcut hair. It's also very easy and straightforward to work with too!

The box was melting, the developer was literally EXPLODING like a pepsi can when you shake it, and it smells like glue. I do not reccomend.
