Best Warriors Yet!
Warriors: Book Five: A Dangerous Path by Erin HunterThis from my 11 year old granddaughter:This book was...indescribable. After I finished book four I kind of forgot the series...but when I got this book, my interest flared back up again. Fireheart finds himself playing leader as Bluestar falls into a deeper state of confusion. With a leader believing she heads a Clan of traitors and cowards, Fireheart must be stronger than ever as danger lurks behind every tree. Meanwhile, Fireheart faces problems within ThunderClan, as the son of Tigerstar draws nearer to being an apprentice, Sandstorm's love seems to fade, and a former ally continues to betray his Clan. Bluestar's condition has not improved; if anything, it has worsened. But a former friend of Fireheart seems to regret his decision...will Graystripe return to his birth Clan? And with every Clan a potential enemy, distrust is more abundant than ever, making Bluestar even more confident in her belief that StarClan has abandoned the cats. And Fireheart must realize that Bluestar's last life will not last forever, and, holding the title of deputy, Fireheart will soon take the throne! The characters DEFINITELY seem real. The way they act, the way they talk, the way they plot. My favorite character is the main one, Fireheart, and his crush, Sandstorm. Fireheart is brave and daring and he always tries to find a way around a fight...and if he can't he's a great fighter. Sandstorm is a pretty cat and she's really strong and fast, not to mention smart. I like how the author portrays her, because so many times the girls are shown as weak or helpless. The character I don't like...well they're the two you're not supposed to like, Darkstripe and Tigerstar. The bad guys...they are always plotting to try and turn Tigerstar's ThunderClan born kits (kittens) into ShadowClan kits by having Darkstripe take the kits out of ThunderClan territory to visit their father on ShadowClan land. And Tigerstar is evil to the core. He's not above stealing kits from their homes at night. The story is very fast paced, but perfect for me. It gives you enough time to understand what's happening, but doesn't spend too much time lingering on small things...I always wish there was more when I finish one! I can see the story playing out as if I were standing next to the main character (as a cat, of course). The author is very descriptive to where if I was asked to draw a scene from the story without ever reading it before, going only off the passage read to me, I could do it easily. I don't know if this story would help a cat-hater understand cats or not...there are a lot of trustworthy, smart, and brave cats in the Warriors series...but there are also many traitors. You also have to keep in mind that these are nothing like the "kittypets" humans keep in their homes. They are larger than tamed cats, some more so than others, and they live in developed cat communities with four separate groups: ThunderClan, the Clan of the main character, RiverClan, a Clan that ThunderClan is indebted to for shelter in a fire, ShadowClan, Clan of Tigerstar the traitor, and WindClan, who is not mentioned as much but has a debt to Fireheart and his buddy Graystripe for bringing them home from the Twolegplace when a virus swept through their Clan. In case you're wondering about their weird names... they have a naming system. We'll use Graystripe's name. This is Fireheart's best bud. When a cat is born they call it a kit. Depending on some trait of their appearance or personality, the cat is named, in this case, Graykit. When Graykit is made an apprentice to be a warrior, he automatically becomes Graypaw. When Graypaw is done training with his mentor, which takes a long time, the Clan leader decides what to name him, in this case Bluestar decides on Graystripe. All leaders use the first part of their original name, like Bluestar's would be Bluekit, then add "-star" to the end to signify leadership and connection with StarClan, the God of the Warriors world.

Great book-had me hooked!
This book was great. I bought it, and, believe me, I am telling the truth-I finished it the same day I bought it. I bought it December 2nd, 2020, and look at the date of when this review was published. I was suprised at the end when-oop, spoilers. Cannot say that. I was hooked to the book all day. Such a great story, a great plot, and, thank goodness, including all the manga, super editions, tails, field guides, all the different warrior cat series, there are over 60 books based off warriors. It is great to know ima be reading for a while. After that, I plan to know EVERYTHING about warriors. And, to people who have not yet tried the series but who are reading the reviews, you should definintly get started on this series. And to the people who are reading it, or have completely read it, nice job! And to the people who have read the 60+ warrior cat based books, ALL of them, I could not be more impressed, and you are obviously dedicated to this series. And, I respect Erin Hunter. She has been writing since 2003, and she has worked hard to publish and write these multiple series of warriors. It is hard, thinking up clan names, even harder with cat names, and so far, in only the first series, there is probably 50+ names created so far, and that is impressive. Like, the most impressive thing that could ever be done. And, in ALL the series, the name of warrior cat names is uncountable. I have no idea how Erin does it, but however she does it, it is absolutely remarkable. Thank you, Erin, for writing this incredible series, and all the series of warriors after that. Very smart, making more then one series based on one thing. Keeps people hooked. You have got me hooked, too. Nice job, you are truly amazing.

Amazing, as always!
This is possibly the best book in the series so far, and I have said that for every other Warrior book as well, but this book is definitely special. In this book, Fireheart (who is now Firestar, yay) struggles with his duties as the Thunderclan deputy. He also has to try to cope with his frazzled leader, who is determined that StarClan has turned their backs on her and the Clan after the murderous discovery of Tigerclaw, who is now Tigerstar, leader of ShadowClan. On top of this, a new evil force reeks the forest, and this "pack" will stop at nothing to turn the hunting into the hunted. Will Fireheart be able to save his Clan, or will he watch the destruction of everything-and everyone-he loved? This book is beautifully written and excitedly full of suspense. Every time I finished a chapter, it killed me not to go on and read the next one! Pretty much everything in this book is absolutely amazing! There are, however, some bad parts. I happen to agree with a lot of the other reviewers when they say that the dogs were portrayed as rabid killing machines. All they said was basically "pack" and "kill", and it made me sad and a bit annoyed to see one of my favorite animal described like this. The ending was extremely sad but not necessarily a "bad part" considering that people should expect to whiteness deaths in this book and I am excited to see Fireheart (now know as Firestar, again, yay) overcome his fears and mold the scarred and frail cats of back into a strong Clan. There's only one question. Will Firestar be able to save his Clan from the treacherous threat of Tigerstar?
