Darn clever mount and software
Yes I am pleased with this. After reading a number of Amazon reviews I was enticed into this purchase and they have been right.I must own 10+ cell phone car mounts (from sticky pads, fit in dash gaps, bean bag, vent mount, etc...) and, while all were cleaver, none really met my needs. This unit, along with the built-in software of the One (M8), has hit the mark.My unit arrived with a USB HTC high power lighter adapter, reasonably long cable and a stick on "disk" that is the same size as the suction base of the mount so it will provide a surface for the base to mount to an area that might not be "smooth" enough to use a suction mount. Oddly, I discovered that the base is the size that sets nicely in my SC430 cup holder and, in this small two passenger car, this turned out to be my "elegant" solution.Software: As mentioned by kind people in these reviews, it works well and starts right up when one inserts the phone in the mount by presenting a new display and useful automobile/driving focused bells and whistles. What I call Gas Station Feature: Phone senses when you power off the car and restarts again in the same state (caveat; have really only used music & GPS so far)when power comes back on and my Bluetooth automatically reconnects and works flawlessly.Design: I really like its Scandinavian looks and adjustability.Very happy with the phone and mount, it might meets your needs too.Best,Joe

Great dock with a few compromises
The dock itself is great with a few minor quibbles:1. The arm is rather short, which is a small problem in my car since the windshield has a very steep angle and the dash is textured, meaning I can't use the adhesive mount. I resolved the issue by mounting it high on the windshield and turning it so the screen is landscape allowing me to slide my phone in and out easily.2. The cord is not terribly long (about 3'), so if your power outlet is low on the dash or below it you will have limited reach for placing the dock.3. As many other reviewers have already stated, you cannot have a case on the phone when using this dock; it covers over half of the phone with a tight fit, so it's either case at all or having to remove before docking. If those issues aren't a big problem for you, this is a great dock: auto enables the Car app upon docking, which has great features and is almost completely customizable.

This is a great car mount for the HTC One M8
This is a great car mount for the HTC One M8. Granted it does not support an auxiliary cable (though honestly it would be very easy to drill a hole in the bottom to allow one, you would just have to remove one of the tabs that holds the USB in place), but I purchased the MPOW Streambot One to use bluetooth audio (with AptX codec which allows lossless playback) to get around that issue. Having said that - you can't hold that against the device when you review it, because you know that this is the situation before you buy it. It grips better than any windshield/dash mount I've ever used. I have a 2007 Mazda 3 and it's mounted on my dash using the...dash mount. Just make sure you clean the surface very thoroughly before installing it, especially if you have ever used Armor All or any cleaners. If you do, then this thing isn't going anywhere. Then if I want to use it in my wife's 2006 Pathfinder, I just pop it off of the dash mount and stick it on her windshield. Highly recommended to any HTC One M8 owner - nothing else will even come close.

Great cradle with a couple of small shortcomings
Works great. Putting the phone in and out is a one-hand operation. The arm is too short, bringing the phone too low in portrait position, so it cannot be strictly vertical (on a horizontal surface, like a dashboard). Not having an audio jack/connector is a big negative, especially for the M8 that has both jacks on the bottom, as if intentionally designed for such connection. My big disappointment is that it seems very difficult to mod to have one added, as the usb attachment is too wide and will be damaged (has be glued or attached some other way). Still, overall great product, and actually one of the reasons I picked the M8.

Would NOT buy again
Installed nicely on the windshield of my Nitro down where I can see it but WAY out of the way of normal viewing. Will try adding a 1/8" plug or at least a hole for one, Well after a week or so I dropped my rating because I too can see the problem others have had, it falls off window mount. I can not tell if it is a magnet or a suction mount if a suction it "suck" I can no longer get it to hold at all. Removing form the windshield and going to screw it to somewhere (not sure were on my Nitro). Also As to adding a audio output unless you can find a small cable side connector you can not drill a hole in the case because the way they made the power connection (removable) if you drill a hole it will remover part of that power mounting. I guess you could put everything in there and add an epoxy to hold both connection in proper place.

Not for my car, but GREAT as a desktop cradle/charger.
Originally bought this to use in the car, but it won't stick to the slightly textured dash in my BMW. It comes with an adhesive disk to use on this type of dash. You are supposed to stick the disk on the textured dash and then attach the cradle to the disk. I didn't want to take the chance of messing up my dash so I tried it on my glass topped desk and it works beautifully. A bit on the steep side ($50) for a desktop cradle, but it works, and I needed one anyway, so...

Works great, much better than generic mounts.
Holds my m8 nice and secure; automatically launching car mode. The charger supplies enough power to not only keep up with even navigation with the screen always on, but will charge three phone sill as well. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the power plug isn't as well aligned as previous model htc car docks so it isn't a simple one-handed motion to slide it in place. You have to move the power cable slightly. Very small issue and I'd absolutely still recommend this over any universal mount.

Nice but I would like access to the headphone auxiliary jack to plug it into my sound system.
Nice but I would like access to the headphone auxiliary jack to plug it into my sound system. Well made, a little awkward to attach the suction cup to your windshield. Needs two hands to attach where most that I own I could stick it up and use my thumb to lock the suction cup down one handed. The cable slot is a good locking connection, but as some say, would probably get ruined if I drill out an access hole for a head phone jack.
