Oil Master Set

This is a good set to get you started and is excellent value for money. Individually the items could cost you a lot more.

Arrived promptly and with everything as stated. This is a gift so I havent used it but I opened up one of the paints to check the quality. I had read on some other companies reviews that the paint had split but these looked perfect. Expensive product but if you were to buy all the items individually it would cost far more.

Loved that the set included everything to get you started at a reasonable price

Nice quality but it is hard to justify the price. That said the brushes should last well and once you have the set, other than replacing the oils, you are well set up. BTW - Painting like Bob Ross is not as easy as it looks 😁.

Picture shows my first effort. It's a decent starter set with a couple observations - the Titanium White was a bit on the runny side rather than firm which is going to make mountain an tree trunk highlights much harder. There are also a couple key things missing ie thinner/cleaner and paint pallet. Then of course you will need an easel and pre-stretched canvases which aren't cheap. Still, it's a great hobby that Bob makes it easy to get decent results from :)

Fair value for starting this new hobby.

Mine did not come with a DVD, another review mentioned the colours used in the DVD don't match the 8 you get in the set. Bob often doubles up on brushes for fast switching, and cleans them with thinner, which you don't get in this set. Also, apparently the DVD only had 1 episode on it - Bob did over 400 episodes, they can't even give you 5-10 on a DVD that has matching colours, no they can't even give you one. You need to buy a lot more than this and do extra things to get started outside of this set, and you really are paying for a brand name. The effort put into helping and or guiding the viewer in this craft for this set is rubbish, near insulting. I've been using digital painting for years, moving to this is a huge cost, this is not value for money compared to that, not even to others on the market you are paying for a brand. If you are looking for something fun to do, avoid this. If you are looking to get into oil painting, do your research and that will probably lead to you avoiding this too.
