No, it's not really a thermal protection for your hair but it's a great uplifting foam. Biolage sells a thermal protection spray which also uplifts and protects the hair. It's in a pump spray bottle.

Q: Can this be used on wet hair, without blow drying?

I always apply to wet hair & blow out after. Have never used it without blow drying my hair.

Q: is the "thickening spray gell" the same as what used to be called "volumizing foam"?

No.... The spray is more of a texturizer that you spray in while your hair is damp. It works great. By itself it adds some body .The foam is More like the traditional mousse/foam
