great tool but drill bits were not all there
Bought to build a model railway signal, the actual hand operated drill is good quality for the money but sadly it arrived with 4 fewer drill bits than advertised. The comments about sharpness fromother buyers of said drill bits is about right.I was using it on plastic and very small pieces at that. For very thin pieces it managed ok, but thicker ones needed me to put a sewing needle in the drill vice which worked well and then finished off with the suppplied drill bits.

Masonry drill bits
So far so good seem to be quite durable they have been used a number of times now still working well 👍

Good buy
Just the right size and drill bits work well on models

Major Quality Control Issues
This review is for the Linkstyle Mini Hand Drill Set with 20 bits (0.3mm to 1.6mm)that includes the pin vice with the Archimedes screw mechanism. The biggest issue with this drill set is (as many others have reported) the inclusion of drills that have never been ground to a cutting point - they have missed the final manufacturing step of creating the angled tip and cutting edges. In my case only the 5 largest drills had any attempt at a ground cutting tip - all the drills smaller than 1mm were completely unfinished with a square cut end and no cutting edges. This problem is either due to indifference about the quality of the product or a serious deficiency in quality control. Obviously I have no way to determine what percentage of supplied drill sets are being supplied in this condition - but it appears this is not just a one off poor set by the number of reports in the feedback. For the price I couldn't be bothered to return them - and chose to grind the required point and cutting edges on all the drill bits myself (not an easy task bearing in mind the very small size of the bits). It is unclear at this stage how long the drill bits will retain a cutting edge - but I suspect the quality of the steel is unlikely to be the best. These drill bits are only recommended for drilling into softer material so I doubt they are actually HSS rated as claimed. The second problem is that quoted drill bit sizes (for those smaller than 1mm) are at best "flexible" and at worst just incorrect. Most people will not have the equipment to accurately measure the diameter of drill bits smaller than 1mm - but a few other purchasers have also noted sizing issues. The 5 smallest drill bits are all essentially 0.5mm - so the 4 smallest sizes are incorrect - as they are quoted as 0.3, 0.35, 0.4, 0.45mm. The next largest bits should be 0.55, 0.6, 0.65mm - but they are all 0.584mm. And from there I have 3 pairs of bits measured as 0.711mm, 0.787mm, 0.889 rather than the quoted 0.7, 0.75, 0.8, 0.85, 0.9, 0.95mm. This appears to be a deliberate simplification of the supplied sizes to reduce the production costs - with only 12 sizes supplied rather than 20 different sizes. So if you want an accurate set of miniature drill bits this is not the product for you - even if you were prepared to grind cutting points on the majority of the drill bits before they can be used.

Just about does the job but there are issues
This is a very small hand drill with a selection of very fine drillbits. The drill action works by keeping your palm on the end to apply light pressure while you rotate the middle section with your fingers to drill. Its does work but take a lot of time to drill through plastic. Its useful for creating very small holes - say in models, craft work and so on. Its no use for heavy duty drilling on hard materials. So it works but there are some issues: first, the bits come mixed up and loose in a small plastic bag and its really impossible to know the actual sizes of each. Second, the fine bits will snap VERY easily so you need to insert the bit right up into the chuck leaving only a few millimetres exposed, any more and the bit will snap. Last, the bits are not exactly sharp - they do cut but its slow progress. So overall, its what I expected: a cheap, manual drill for cutting fine holes in relatively soft materials. Just set your expectations there and don't look for miracles.

Great mini drill for model making
Perfect hobby drill set for model making. Used to make various holes from 0.3 to 1mm. Drill clean holes and hasn’t caused any damage to models. Drill bits are sharp but could be more durable. This can easily be upgraded with other drill bits.Would be helpful to have a centre punch to start the drilling.
