It was bent on the spine and front cover and the back cover was torn 1/2” wide and 3” long. It was a Father’s Day gift. Disappointing

the perfect little funny story i collect children's books

This is one of the most hilarious-and wise books I have had the good fortune to become acquainted with. The biological science is good, but the no holds barred and outrageously funny take on our collective mortality completely endeared this book, and author, to me. I sent it to a good friend of mine, whom I thought would be amused, but no...And I am not allowed to read it to my (admittedly only 5 years old) granddaughter. We will all be better off when we realize that we are, actually, part of nature, and we all end up the same.

I bought it way back when. Purchased this one for a client. Still absolutely amazing.

Find this. Buy this. Share immediately with your People. Laugh your sick selves (you LIKE Larson, right?) silly. Learn a lot of fascinating nature and bug stuff. Trust me: order two before we can't find these anymore. Not for the squeamish (it IS Larson, after all!). Brilliant. You're welcome!

I love this book and it's super funny.However, a word of warning to any parents/teachers who are thinking of buying it for their children. It does contain a page that mentions the word 'sex maniac', which of course out of context, sounds pretty inappropriate. It isn't quite as bad as all that, but can be beyond some younger children's understanding as any word involving 'sex' is considered a rude word rather than a word to describe a biological process of making babies or the difference between genders. I did black out the word 'sex' with a black pen and my year 3 class really loved the book. (Only one person noticed the word that was blacked out and I quickly explained the biological aspect of it.)

Brilliant! My 7 year old boy, this 47 year old reviewer, and my 79 year old mother all loved it!
