Great for reading aloud to younger children for non religious families
I have been looking for book like this to read to my 5 and 7 year old. Both are deep thinkers and have philosophical questions. This gives a good foundation in how to think without a religious framework. I found it helpful coming from a Christian background and having left the faith in my late teens struggled to answer to their level, their basic questions. We homeschool at the moment and I pair this book with the wonderful series “Annabelle & Aiden” by JR Becker.

Great book but came damaged
Book is great, shipped quickly but came with a big grease stain on it. It was a gift so kind of a bummer.

Life changing - essential for all families
This book opened our eyes to the wonders of human behavior. We enjoy reading a chapter a night. The discussion that ensues is unlike that from any other book we’ve read as a family. Through this book, we’ve discovered the root of struggles, the causes behind feelings and behaviors - good and bad - and have been moved to a heightened awareness of our actions and how they might impact others. This is an essential read for anyone, transformational for adults and children alike. My older son gave up screen time after the first chapter, my younger found an interior determination to work harder in school, and my husband and I are becoming better and more understanding better. I’m sure this will remain a staple in our evening rotation. I’d give it ten stars if I could.

Every kid should have a copy.
Most kids are in a hurry to grow up. The short passages on a variety of topics are ideal for smoothing out their road to wisdom. My granddaughter already considers this one of her reference books. I suggest parents read it too. My granddaughter wrote this report on it: Big Ideas for Curious Minds What is philosophy? Why is philosophy the base to our society? This book explains the fundamentals to philosophy and society. The title of this book clearly states the wonders of it’s own. Big Ideas for Curious Minds. My favorite part of this book is the section, Shyness: How to overcome it. After reading this category, I have overcome my own timidness. I start to play with more kids now in the pursuit of making more friends. I have learned a large quantity from this novel. I have learned to teach, control my unexplained emotions, and what philosophy means. Philosophy is the base to our society and why us humans act as we do. To me, philosophy means control of of our minds and how our society has changed who we are and how. I recommend this book. Big Ideas for Curious Minds. It is a good reflection of our actions and shows that we all think differently. This book explains how our minds connect and why. My conclusion of this book is a positive opinion. I encourage you to read this book and learn about philosophy. I believe schools should teach this as a minimal subject as-well. We should be exposed to the truth about our society and why philosophy is so important. Big Ideas for Curious Minds is a great introduction to philosophy. Lets get to learning!

I like that it asks you provocative questions about yourself. You can find some useful ideas even as an adult. And it is NOT boring! I wish I had it when we studied philosophy in my 1st year...

We have had this books for a number of years now and continue to go back to it from time to time with our now 11 year old. It has been the perfect introduction to philosophy for children and also entertaining for adults as well. Each story is short (1-3 pages), accessible and relevant to issues that both children and adults can relate to. Philosophers are both ancient and modern, from a wide variety of traditions and religions, while still being non-denominational. Each story is paired with a biography of the philosopher to help clarify their philosophical stand point, adding context and relevance. These have lead to plenty of deep conversations and that have benefited our whole family. I cannot recommend this enough and we have bought a few extra copies as gifts
