The weight limit is 250 pounds.

Q: Can the pad be removed for cleaning?

You can of course remove it from frame but removing it from wooded rods on ends would be a pain. Each is attached to ring with a knot through wooden rod. I would recommend spot cleaning or try soaking in bathtub. Hope this helps.

Q: Why is this almost touching the ground when I sit on it?

I put mine on the links closest to the hammock
