Great recipes
I bought this book prior to my Viking River cruise on the Daunbe. I already made the Hungarian Goulash, which was very tasty. I look forward to trying other recipes and plan to make my annual Christmas dinner around some of the recipes.

3.5 Stars with Recipe Gems
The 3.5 Stars are because some of the recipes don't seem to have the right quantities/proportions - like it was lost in translation or maybe never tested. But there are some gems in the book - the sausage rolls are excellent and some of the noodle dishes remind me of things my grandmother cooked. I haven't tried it yet but there is a recipe for a cake made with farina that sounds very interesting. For gardeners who grow curbubits there are great recipes for them when you have too many and don't know what to do with them. As a odd note: On the cover of the book there are stuffed peppers - if you're expecting to find that recipe inside the book it's not there!

Not very useful
This book fell apart as soon as I opened it. The glue wasn't strong enough to keep the pages together, and they fell right out of the book. And that was just a foretaste of the fact that the recipes were not going to be very useful at all. The problem is that it is very poorly organized...there is a heavy concentration on the countries involved instead of the dishes I was interested in trying. The author couldn't decide whether it was a cookbook or a historic and geographic tour guide. She needed to make up her mind, but didn't.
