I highly recommend watching Hotel Mumbai!!
The Hotel Mumbai Movie made me thing of what can happen when countries let their guard down to the threat of terrorism, like what happened on 9/11/2001. I will remember that day as long as I live and also remember the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks too. This movie had me teared up at times and yet made me think of the courage and determination of the people who had to have worked together to survive such a horrific ordeal. If countries are not prepared today, what happened in Mumbai could very well happen again and be even worse. I would also call this movie a very huge warning.

Highlights Bravery and Heroism Centered Around India Terror Attacks
This was a pretty decent movie about the terror attacks in India during 2008. Most of it centers around staff and guests at the Taj Hotel who are trapped when terrorists enter the hotel and start shooting, throwing grenades, and burning parts of the hotel. It truly highlights heroism, bravery, courage, and selflessness that helped many to escape and survive. The terror scenes are done very well revealing the horror without being grotesque for the sake of shock. Understandably this is a large topic to cover as the terrorism spread out at different places including a train station, cafes, streets, etc. but I thought the film covered it well for the time it was allowed. The acting was pretty good also so it is easy to be drawn into certain characters and develop feeling for what is going on. I initially watched this because I think I was watching an episode of "I Survived" where a lady on a yoga retreat in India was caught in the middle of the attacks at a restaurant.

Horrifyingly real
The 11/26 terrorist attack will stay fresh in one's memory for the fact that they held all the guests of a huge 5 star hotel hostage. There could not be a more real and gripping film version of this tragedy. That does not mean there is gore but you get the bone chilling feeling that the helpless folks trapped in the hotel would have experienced. Terrific performances as well by Kher, Patel and Boniadi. There is hardly a frame wasted. I am not sure why this movie did not become a blockbuster hit. Indians in particular should see this film so they never forget that dark period

Quality film telling of horror in the flesh
Watched this avidly, locked in my place; shocked, angry and befuddled.Hotel Mumbai is reminiscent of movies I watched in earlier days, a real trip into another reality, complete with adrenaline bursts, inner dialogue and the inevitable surrender to being just another judgmental passenger instead of the pilot. Most movies of recent decades are rubbish, not necessarily in regards to acting abilities or huge sums spent on creating believable scenarios, but for the preachy kind of messages pushed on the audience with the same careless, totally uncool, urgency of a fourteen-year-old boy pressing against his date at the last minute. When I watched Jaws, in a packed theater many summers ago, I was frozen in place for the whole movie, just like the large popcorn that sat totally untouched under my seat.Escapism is the word, but given the true horror upon which this movie is based, it is not a proper description.Acting is good. Nothing I can think of that harms this movie.I don't believe in giving anything away in reviews, so I will leave it at that.Obviously, the horrific behavior is not proper viewing for everyone, and it is about a terrible and senseless violent outburst that will leave a mark somewhere.

Disappointing
This movie is based on true events. Lots of characters. I thought Dev Patel's role was limited - the reason we rented it was because of him. Some of the action was inconceivable under such duress. We watched till the end, but it was disturbing to get there.

REAL TERROR ON SCREEN
I didn't really know too much about these attacks. I guess they weren't played up in US press as much, but the movie brings forth shocking actions taken by the terrorists. The way they took lives in the film was cold hearted. I know they had deeply religious beliefs, but apparently they felt they could murder at will and without conscious, anyone who was not of their faith. The only person saved was a lady who kept saying an Islamic prayer over and over again, and because she was familiar with Muslim ways, he let her live, otherwise she would be killed like the others. The terrorists seemed unemotional as they killed pleading guests. This was extremely disturbing to me. I was raised a Christian. The workers in the hotel stayed behind to help the guests, which was terrific, even though many were killed. The hotel had over 500 rooms, so many sought hiding places. The film was outstanding by my standards. I only knew two actors in there, but all the actors did a wonderful job relating the terror and bravery done during that siege. The terrorists were portrayed as extremely dedicated to their faith, but in a twisted way. Film was definitely worth owning.
