The Discerning of Spirits

This book is a sharp, eye-opening read that brings real understanding to a topic many Christians misunderstand. The book breaks things down in a way that is simple, biblical, and practical for everyday life. I received it today and finished it in one sitting because it was that impactful. If you want stronger spiritual awareness and to recognize what is moving behind the scenes in terms of the spiritual realm, deliverance.. this book is absolutely worth reading!

This book is packed with excellent descriptions, functions, explanations, and examples of the essential gift of discerning of spirits. What makes it better, is that it is a quick read, definitely great for busy people who want the meat of the matter without the fluff. I plan to read additional books by Frank Hammond. I am believing the Holy Spirit to transform my mind; erase theological, doctrinal errors; and guide me in the imparted gifts of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, and discerning of spirits so I can be effective in the ministry for which I have been called. All praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!!

Eye opener

I got this eBook as research material for a book I am writing about spiritual gifts. It was a quick, easy read on the subject from someone experienced in the exercise of this gift. As with all of his writings, Frank Hammond uses simple language and illustrations from his personal ministry to define and explain the gift of discerning of spirits. He also talks about how it works with other spiritual gifts. Hammond cautions believers against common errors in contemporary ministries--including talking to demons and following prescribed patterns in deliverance. He urged readers, instead, to rely upon the Holy Spirit and this gift in dealing with evil spirits. At the beginning of the book, the author says that all Christians are called to spiritual warfare. At the end of the book, he leads readers through a prayer to receive the gifts of knowledge, faith, wisdom and discernment, so that they can do so. If you are curious about spiritual gifts and would like to learn about discerning of spirits from someone well acquainted with it, this book is a nice introduction. It is brief, to the point and easy to read. It's also quite reasonably priced.

It is a short read, but full of important information about the gift of discerning spirits from God. There are helpful do’s and don’ts when it comes to dealing with demons. It is Biblical based, and also based on his experiences.

I had read pigs in the parlor many years ago when i first began in the ministry of deliverance and it is a great source for a beginner. This book confirmed for me that i am following Gods voice correctly.....like brother hammond said the holy spirit will guide u just trust. I was delivering a girl who had fell into homosexuality and the holy spirit called out quirky!...i had never heard that spirits name before but i obeyed. She went on ro have a normal life. Married and had 4 children. I found out after the deliverance that the word quirky comes from a root word fantastic and it literally meant to dress of the opposite sex......i was like wow! Father God you are amazing!!!! Thank u brother hammond i will recomend this book to all of my students.

The book was very well written. The author’s experience and encounter with the Holy Spirit was candid and extraordinary.
