Q: Do they use pesticides in growing?

You'll never know. Most producers use pesticides, but the problem is that some of the pesticides used are considered unsafe. In 2012 Greenpeace found that some of the top Chinese tea sellers were selling teas grown on banned pesticides - "Banned pesticides found in teas produced by popular Chinese tea brands" (from greenpeace website). Lately I switched from Chinese to Japanese tea producers - it is more pricey but safer.

I have read that teas get better with age. With that said, I have two tins of this tea that I bought about ten years ago. I just came across them recently, along with some other teas; in storage so to speak. One of my favorites has been Jasmine tea. I opened one of the tins and made some tea. This has now become my favorite black tea, and I have a LOT of different teas. I was surprised to find that this tea is so inexpensive. My tins have no date. Obviously this tea is not organic or even close to it, but for the price I am going to pick up a couple more tins. I have so many teas, so two more should last me my lifetime. With potential pesticides, my lifetime may be shorter than I think. LOL

one pound...I make it in a coffee brewer and works great. LOVE THE FLAVOR! I have 5 half gal glass containers in the frig. Guests can heat up a cup.

Q: is there any sweetener added to the lychee tea?

No, lychee fruit is sweet on it's own and that's what is sweetening the tea.
