This set really does have some of the best of the best on there. I was completely drawn into it. There are hours and hours of viewing time on the discs. I Want More Unsolved Mysteries Collections!
Amy Lynn has already done a terrific job of summarizing these stories, so I won't repeat that, but I do have a couple of things to add: 1) I wish they would do more of these collections so we can remember our favorite UM episodes. 2) The discs include director/producer commentary for some of the segments. This is a great behind the scenes look at the making of the show. 3) My favorite episode from this collection, "Texas Most Wanted" is interesting for several reasons. It's a very well-done look at a horrible crime, the story of the murder of Larry Dickens by a violent pervert. The episode led directly to the perp's capture. The interviews with Dickens' mother and sister were very sensitive and well-handled. This is "Unsolved Mysteries" at its top-notch best. BTW, take a good look at the actor who played Larry Dickens. That's Matthew McConaughey.

Great Series
Being a Robert Stack fan, this series was the best. Taking nothing away from Denis Ferrina, who hosted the updated version of this show, the original stories are the best This 'murder' set is one other sets re-mastered from the show. This is an enjoyable purchase that'll make you want the other sets as well.

Great Mysteries!
Highlights only a snippet of some of the most incomprehensible creatures in the world- murderers. And a DVD can only hold so many great cases of these bizarre murderers from the “Unsolved Mysteries” files. So many great examples yet so much more that could have been explored. Yet, creepy nonetheless! Enjoy it on a scary night when you’re all alone! Some faves are the mother who was willing to kill her children for insurance money, the nurse who was “Scared to Death”, and the classic Zodiac case.

No Black Dahlia?
Inquiring rhetorically, how can this otherwise well produced program not include the 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, the Black Dahlia, in Los Angeles? If the physical remains of her body don't constitute a bizarre murder, nothing does.
