Garrett 8.5x11 DD Coil Cover, Black

Fit my Garrett Ace 400 factory coil perfectly, I put it (the coil cover) in my microwave for about a minute, to warm it up and make it more flexible, made installation much easier.very pleased with fit and function.

This coil cover was exactly what I needed for my Garrett AT pro. I read in other reviews about having to be careful about cracking while installing. The day this coil cover was delivered it was in the teens outside. The coil cover came delivered in just a padded envelope with some visible crushing so I thought for sure this would be busted upon arrival. When I opened the envelope the coil cover was perfect but warped. I ran the coil cover under hot tap water for a few minutes to warm up the plastic before install, not enough to melt but just enough to relax the material. When I installed I lined the coil cover up and one lip caught first so I just slid my hands around the edge with slight pressure and the coil cover went on similar to a zipper. An audible little buzz sound and it snapped into place all around the rim. Once on I saw the coil cover was a perfect snug fit and no more warping. I was surprised to see how shallow the fit is, I expected the cover to go a little higher on the coil but it is secure so I am not worried. Remember when you get your coil cover, warm it up a little before installing :)

This cover snaps over my AT Gold coil snuggly. It feels so secure I'm sure it will not fall off until it is intentionally removed. The plastic appears durable and I expect it to add a lot of life to my coil by absorbing the scrapes and scratches that occasionally occur while detecting. A little more pricey than I hoped, but you pay for quality.

I really like this coil cover. I wasn't going to get one until I saw all the great reviews and the cost. They're right, it's an extremely nice and tight fit, as if it's part of the coil. It definitely won't be coming off on accident! I like the idea of protecting the coil and being able to replace the cover, but it also adds a little more "structure" to the coil and makes it look a even more professional, if only a little. That's not a big deal or anything, but worth mentioning. Basically if you're gonna buy a detector with the Garrett DD coil, buying this cover is a no-brainer. Put it on before you even use the detector!

Expensive for what it is but seems pretty sturdy for plastic and will certainly provide long-term protection. Effortless installation. This cover should come with any brand new search coil.

Very hard to put on, but I know it won't fall off. Great product.

The fit is absolutely perfect. Simple to attach to the coil, start at the middle of the search coil and work your way around. You will hear it snap into place as you attach it. The fit is snug so I have no concerns about it working its way loose. Can't attest to it's durability but the plastic is plenty substantial to protect the coil provided you're not bashing rocks with it.
