Q: Will the alarm scare the mouse to death? I know rabbits can have heart attacks from being overly scared but I don't know much about mice.

We have not had any deaths due to the alarm. The overwhelming majority of mice we polled prefer the noise over being forgotten about to starve or being caught in a kill trap =). In all seriousness, the many mice we've caught do seem to experience some stress as you'd normally expect from being captured but have been released without injury. 🌳🐁🌳

Q: I have used mine successfully many times. But a mouse I just captured gnawed at the door that lifts, and escaped. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's never happened to me. I did have a mouse escape when my cat knocked the trap off the counter and onto the floor. The door sprung open and away he went. Your catch was quite industrious to gnaw his way out. Hope you have better luck next time!

Q: Why is the compartment so small?

The compartment easily fits a house mouse.

Q: How many decibels is the alarm? Also it the alarm water resistant or proof?

It's around 65 decibels, which for reference is a little louder than your average microwave or oven alarm. I can hear traps in my attached garage and other users have reported easily being able to hear from basements or attics. The alarm is intended for indoor use only and is not water resistant. The instructions show how the alarm can be easily removed for trap cleaning to avoid getting it wet.
