Yes, I think this product would serve you well. It appears the pad on the product does not allow your lotion or medicine to soak into it, so you would not be wasting your prescription having it soaking into the pad. The pad is flat and smooth and I think would make a good applicator for your purpose. Good luck

Q: how do you apply lotion to applicator....just put on surface?

Yes, basically think of it as an "extension palm". Most lotion is thick enough that it will stay on until you can apply to back.I bought another applicator at the same time as this one that had rollers and a reservoir you put the lotion in. It didn't really work any better, and then you either had to clean out the reservoir or leave lotion in there (that would eventually get nasty).

Q: Will it work with Biofreeze gel?

It will work with anything that sticks to it and doesn't drip off, such as lotion or gel. It's a great product!Shela D.
