Wow - Tags, et al
I rarely write reviews but do so when something is really outstanding and this volume easily fits in that category. I am a new user of the iPhone and purchased it primarily for use of the camera and its many apps. This book is written in a wonderful, casual style. It includes a staggering array of diverse images with general instructions on how he achieved the effects (specific app names are always included in the order they were applied). If you are comfortable learning and navigating new apps, you'll be off quickly and experimenting with his many recommended apps which he details by categories/purposes. If you are not adept at learning apps and all their symbols, etc. (that's me) the tags in this book (there are many of them) let you view brief demonstration tutorials which the author has developed. This feature alone, for me, is worth the price of the book and then some; in just a few minutes I am using apps which would have taken mean a long time to fully understand. Be you knew to the iPhone and slow to learn apps or a long-time user who wants to see and learn how to combine apps into wonderful, evocative images, this is the volume for you.

Best book on iphoneography I've read so far
The book is full of examples, and explains what apps were used and how to create the images. The vidieos, that are numerous throughout the chapters, cover step by step instructions, as well as app reviews that show the different functions of the app. I really appreciated this part of the book the most. Apps seem inexpensive at 99 cents to a few bucks but it can really add up if you are randomly downloading app after app looking for the ones that will do what you want. It's very hard to tell what an app can do from the short blurb they write about them. Watching the vidieos from the book and seeing the features produce the work is invaluable.I recommend this book to anyone starting out with iphoneography, as well as to people who have been at it awhile and feel the need to try something new.

Great overview of available iphone photo editing apps and their functions
This book was a great overview. He offers a number of apps for each function and tells how they differ. The book also offers a number of exercises which illustrate the way different apps can be used in layers. Just looking at the exercises was enough to get me on my way.I was inspired to go back to content I abandoned in the early 90's when creating multiple images in the camera and darkroom took forever (not being a highly detailed person, I never became became proficient enough with Photoshop to do the job there either). This book kickstarted or rebooted a creative adventure.

Must-Have for the iPhoneographer!!!
I got the Kindle version of this "book" and it's so cool! It has a ton of "how to" videos embedded, and I think watching a video about how to use a variety of apps to edit photos is a much easier way to learn than reading steps in a book and trying to duplicate on your phone. In fact I have the book on my phone and I go back and forth between the book, the videos, and the apps, practicing with each one after reading about/seeing it. The author covers a huge variety of excellent photo-editing apps, and the book is well worth the price. I am enjoying it greatly, and surprisingly found out a lot of new details about how to use apps I'd had for a while. Highly recommended!

Sill Accessing
My initial reaction to this book is underwhelmed. But I am giving it a bit of leeway because I have just set it aside for now. The way it is organized does not suit me, so I need to re-access when I can sit down with and and give it my undivided attention. When I am looking for inspiration or a tutorial, I like "bites" that I can take and run with, then return when hungry for more.

Good Book
At first I was disappointed that the author didn't go into more detail about the various apps used in the e-version of the book. But then I started watching the videos and was much more pleased.

Explore the possibilities
WOW. Finally, a book that feels like the future. Even the paperback is interactive. Dan's extraodinary images are showcased in a resource that demonstrate how to transform an iPhone snapshot into an iconic statement and a piece of art. Not only has Dan identified the top 45 low-cost photo apps, you can access 4 hours of tutorials on your smartphone.

If you're wondering how far you can go with your I-photos, strap on your lens belt and enjoy this book from front to end. Top to bottom. Left to right, etc-etc-etc....Just great. Enough bragging about it, go check it out....before you miss out on some superb stuff. Are you still sitting there?

brilliant
I bought this book having been given an ipod for christmas because I wanted the camera facility on it , this book is soooo good , I've downloaded apps I would never have discovered on my own and by each picture it tells you exactly which apps and the process he went through to achieve the end result. One of the apps in there is no longer avaliable ( FotoMuse ) but a really inspiring book , my teenage son and I will use it a lot .

Excellent book on taking iPhone images farther
If you buy just one book on editing/tweaking iPhone images, make it this one. The author's style is crisp and clear, and the apps used clearly documented. More than that, however, the author relays a number of "aesthetic capabilities" that you can take/leave as you like. (Think recipe book.) Great for thinking more creatively about creating images, not just with an iPhone.

Out of date
Check the publication date before buying this book. It is seriously out of date. iPhones and photo apps have come a long way since this was published. Most of the apps in the book get poor reviews if you check them out. To get the best out of this book you need to download a Tag Reader app that itself gets the worst reviews I have ever seen. The tag reader app and the material it leads to gives the sort of information you that might (should) have been in the book to make it useful.
