Great Tool & Quality
I really like the DeWalt line of tools. I have several different brands for different projects, and DeWalt is in that line-up. The ergonomics are very good, feels solid. I purposely purchased this screwdriver due to the fact it can be changed from a straight tool to a tool with a handle. I have already used both modes for my line of work. I purchased this for my business use on computers. The adjustable speed by turning your hand one way or another is great. I wanted a tool that wasn't as fast as some of the screwdrivers, like my very fast Makita older version, and this fit exactly in that line. It's nice to have the bag. I put labels on mine so I know what tools I have in each bag. I purchased two different packages of this screwdriver, each having different accessories.

It worked for less than 90 days
I like the tool, but it didn't even last three months. It was used only a few times a week for about 20 minutes maybe a bit more each time and then, It just started to act up. and not you couldn't use it.I was lucky that it failed with in three months, as Dewalt has a 90 money back offer.I took the offer! haven't got the money yet. but I'm hopeful.Love the tool! But it just didn't last. Its Sad Really,Well I try again with the version 2.0Dewalt / Stanley, have a 90 day return offer for any reason, an I was somewhat lucky that it was starting to go inside that time frame! I returned the tool and a short 3 months latter and many many emails later, I got my money back. It took a two to three emails every night for three months to get them to cut me a check, I also had to call six or seven times, It probable cost me five times the money I spent on it to get it back, but they had to make it difficult, I just finished a video of all the emails and theirs responses just forfun! and to show it's not ME! it was them. So operation works like this: Insert driver bit into screw
The gyroscopic feature is a gimmick and I have mixed feelings about it. If you're not familiar with it, there are motion sensing gyroscopes in the drill that use your wrist rotation to determine the chuck speed. So operation works like this: Insert driver bit into screw, pull trigger (nothing happens at this point), then rotate your wrist about the same axis as the rotation of the drill. This is the same motion you use when driving a screw with a normal unpowered screwdriver. The gyroscopes measure how far your wrist has turned since the trigger was pulled and adjusts the dill direction and speed accordingly. In a drill like this I think its actually a handy feature. It led to a huge decrease in control going one direction and unintentional reversals. But the really cool thing it allowed me to do was the "turn the screw backwards until it clicks" trick to prevent cross threading machine screws. With a normal drill I have to do this by hand or hit the reverse switch a bunch. A few times I found myself having to twist my wrist at awkward angles to get the drill engaged so this driver may be a problem in tight spaces. Overall though I think the gyro scope was very handy in my application where I was tightening and loosening a few thousand 1/4-20 machine screws. As far as power goes though, this drill is totally gutless. I had to give each screw an extra 1/4 turn by hand at the end to get it tight enough. I doubt this thing would be able to drive a wood screw at all. Im not sure about other brands of small screwdriver, but if you are looking for a general purpose driver get something else.As neet as this thing is, if you already have an 18V it becomes completely redundant.

What a FABULOUS product!
My husband put this on his wish list primarily for the extra torque provided by the 8V power vs the typical 4V that his Black and Decker has. Further, the Black and Decker usually lasts about a year before it gives out. This screwdriver definitely has more power. It remains to be seen how long it lasts. He didn't even realize that this screwdriver has an advanced function. Rather than a switch to change direction of the turn, this one has a built in gyroscope. You press the trigger, then turn the screwdriver in the direction you want it to turn. The more you turn the screwdriver, the faster it goes. It works in any position (horizontal, vertical, or any angle). He LOVES it.

Best Tool I've Purchased in a long time
I have had the Dewalt cordless screwdriver for a little more than a month now and I am very impressed with it (so much so that I'm taking the time to write a review). I initially bought the less expensive SKIL cordless driver but it's battery only lasted 6 months. This Dewalt screwdriver has made my drill almost obsolete. It has great torque; the battery lasts a long time on a single charge; and, given it's size, is easily stored and grabbed for a quick job around the house.
