Updated version - complete with Git repos
So, this is the 3rd edition of this book. The updates are great and timely as it includes Instagram in this edition. It's a good introduction to how to start data mining from social web. The language is easy to understand and follow. The authors make all their code available on GitHub, and it's relatively easy to use. Code has been updated to Python 3.Purchasers should know that there is also an option to purchase directly from the publisher that includes updates to the text of book (and if use their DropBox or Google drive sync, they update automatically). That is not currently the case with a Kindle version.Overall, if you are interested in getting started with data mining social media, this is a great tutorial.

A Good Book
This was a good read for anyone in marketing, IT, HR, management, or potentially hackers. In fact, anyone could benefit from learning what NOT to post on their own profiles...

Easy to understand
Prior knowledge of programming is not necessary for this book, and I believe it contains vital information. Understanding what value your information holds to companies is very important and this book allows you to have a better understanding of how your information is obtained. There is much to gain from knowing what information is used and where it is directed.Understanding the consumer allows for your business to flourish. Data is becoming more and more valuable, big corporations see the need for data for them to survive in the digital age, it is only fair for you to understand the process. I recommend this reading to everyone due to how vital all of this information is.
