I need to make sure this printer will FEED and print VERY HEAVY cardstock. I *think* the card stock is 110 lb. Anyone have experience here?

Sorry this isnt an answer but a question about your printing experience. What settings do you use for printing cardstock? I bought it for my crafting business (invitations, labels, etc) and when I print in cardstock or label sheets the ink runs, none of the paper settings or any setting works for me.

If I''m not predominantly printing photographs, should I still buy this? I mainly need it for printing illustrations, and other designed materials.

I'm not a photographer either. I use it to print design pieces and it works great. I recommend buying the cable for more reliable printing. You'll need it anyway for set up.

How does this printer compare to Epson stylus 1400? I have 1400 and color is great but has the ink leaking problem.

The 1430 is a wide carriage that I use for 17x19 posters as well as standard color sizes. I do not use Epson cartridges due to the cost. I have good luck with LD Products at a great savings and no leaks ever. I have my Artisan hard wired to a laptop and 2 other printers in my office are wireless.

what is the maintenance on the printer

None so far other than replacing a few cartridges. Speaking of ink I tried buying the off brand and the printer did recognize them.
