I use this to measure my ingredients in my kitchen, and so far it works well. It has a tare function, so you can set a small container on it and zero it out so that you don't have to factor the weight of the container. Its backlit too, so that is nice, makes it easy to read. It also has an auto shut off to keep from draining the battery. I like that it folds up for storage. Measures to .01 grams, so you can be pretty precise. I think it maxes at 100g, but I have never had higher than 30g, so I can't really comment on that.I would recommend getting a set of weights to check it and calibrate. You can get them for a pretty low price. I got the ones that were suggested with the scale, and I think they were 7 USD. Pretty cheap and you get plenty to check it (I just use the 5g weight, and that is fine). I suppose you could just use a Nickle, they weight 5g, but you have no way of knowing that it is accurate that way, as the weight of the Nickle can vary.

A nice looking piece of work! Fit and finish are near perfect. Works right out of the box (after unblocking the included batteries). Measured a few 1 to 60 gram weights (I've had since I was a kid with a chemistry set) very accurately. It requires 100 or 200 gram test weights for calibration but, since I don't have these, I'm happy to just go with the factory settings.My only complaint would be with the little rubber feet which, as others have mentioned, have a tendency to fall off, leaving the scale unbalanced. I super-glued the one that would not stay on and may do the same with the rest. Otherwise, I'm amazed at the quality and value this scale offers.

When I purchased this I assumed like I'm sure many others that "you get what you pay for"...and I couldn't have been more mistaken! When compared to other scales of much higher cost, it's as good or better than most other small, portables I've used.One problem this type of scale suffers from is due to its portability...moving it around and all the bumps and bangs that come with these types often constantly cause them to have to be calibrated. I waited several days to review this one just for that reason...and after many days of daily use and moving it constantly...I have only had to calibrate it once and that was when first receiving it. I tested it daily with 3 calibrated weights and it consistently weighed perfect.Accuracy is as described...while no scale is "perfect", this one is well within any standards or requirements that you may have.

Scales with this level of accuracy (purchased 1000g scale) must be calibrated when powered up. Buy the 500g weight for the1000g scale and keep them together, follow the simple calibration steps and expect perfect measurement every time. As a home brewer its used for precise weight of hops. Easy read display, and just the right size table to place a small container for weighing out ingredients with spot on results.

I'll start with saying, Amazon always takes care of me so I never worry about that. But I've owned many digital pocket scales in the past years, and by reading the reviews, before my initial purchase I thought this might be a good buy.Package arrived promptly, much faster than expected. I think I chose 5-8 days on the shipping and the thing was here in 1-2!Opened the brown box, that was undamaged.Seen the scale box, along with my other things I purchased. And the little scale box had been open, with the tape cut. So first thought in my head was, I got a used scale.Then unpackaged the scale completely, upon opening I noticed the scale was new.Well, now here comes the trouble, the scale isn't calibrated correctly.Weighed a dollar, weighed a nickel, both vary in weight by outstanding measures. I understand a dollar doesn't always weigh exactly a gram due to wear and or contaminates on the bill, with that being said a dollar should weigh around a gram and this baby was saying almost two.. And nickels should weigh around 5 grams, well the nickel was also saying about a gram extra. So, yes in my opinion thats a substantial off balance that i now have to correct by buying calibration weights. AND like another reviewer said, the feet fall off and make the scale unstable, well that happened to me pulling it gently out of the fake leather case it came with. One last thing, and don't think I'm not happy, its still a good scale just needs some work. But the last thing about the scale, I was unhappy about was, the build. Like I've owned these imported pocket scales, and the plastic on this one, seems really faulty, meaning you can strongly see where the plastic had been in a mould. So I'll give the scale three stars because its responsiveness, with weighing. And the quality of the little touch display.
