Kishen Kumar Chaudhary and Karan are family like friends, when Kishen's wife Mrs. Kaushalya gives birth to a baby boy Prem, Karan helps the couple bring up there child with out- most care. Years later the two friends have parted ways, Karan likes in a shanty house, works as a mechanic and is the father to a young girl Suman while Kishen is a wealthy industrialist and lives in a spacious bungalow. In order to accumulate huge sums of fund abroad for good living Karan decides to leave Suman in the care of the Chaudhary's family. All is well there for Suman as she is befriend by Prem which eventually blossom to love, Kaushalya finds out about Prem and Suman's relationship and approve of Suman as her daughter-in-law but Kishen is quite unhappy with the relationship as he have plans to get Prem marry to his business partner's daughter Seema thus he insults Suman and throw her out of his house.. This is one of the Best Films of all time. It won several awards including Best Film of the year. Salman Khan did a fabulous job in the movie that launched him into a superstar. The same cannot be said for the actress Bhagyashree, who has disappeared from Bollywood after she got married. The movie is directed by Sooraj Barjatya who has given us great movies in the future like Hum apke hain kaun and Hum Saath saath hai. This is their Best to my opinion. Maine Pyar Kiya kind of gave birth to the successful Romantic Genre that took place in the 90s. It is full of great music including the Antakshari. I think the romance was amazing and the chemistry was great fun. It is an absolute family entertainer not to be missed. --imdb.com Review: A REAL MAN! - I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! The story is very cliché in Bollywood, with two people who love each other with different backgrounds being denied being together and the greedy, dishonest people conniving against them, but Salman really makes this movie. He really proves he loves his woman! Review: A true Winner!! - What to say... This movie is a popular classic for a reason! I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The character of prem is typical rich kid but he was unexpectadly sweet and kind to Suman right from the start. RIght from the start the chemistry between the two is great. THe way there friendship grows into love is super sweet as well. I especially loved the songs, the only downside is they are not subtitled, but you don't feel like your missing much because they act out a lot of what the song is about. Watching prem fight to prove his love in the second half is what we expect and anticipate as we watch these wonderfully over the top films! Get ready to fall in love!
