are you able to hear TV clearly with fan on.

I have the fan right next to the TV so yes, the noise does interfere. At low speeds it is not too bad. I have a very quiet house, me and my 2 cats so any noise is more noticible . I also got TV Ears and they work very well except for Amazon.com streaming which doesn't work. We have had the longest hottest spell I ever remember here in Hawaii so the fan is wonderful. I have no air conditioning nor heat in my house and most of the time that is fine but this summer has been awful. the fan made it tolerable . I may get another one for my home office next year.

I'm looking for an outside fan to blow my neighbors' cigarette smoke back across the fence. Is this powerful enough? Thanks!

Tower fans are not very powerful. I believe people use them because they like that they don't take up much space and have a different look. The amount of air a fan moves is typically measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). On high, this fan moves 334 CFM, not bad for a tower fan. By contrast, another fan made by Lasko that costs about the same, model 2265QM, moves 3460 CFM. In other words, the 2265QM is more than ten times as powerful as the 4924. Even with a pretty good breeze coming your way from the neighbors' house, you could reverse that flow of cigarette smoke with a fan pushing 3460 CFM. I don't know about this tower fan pushing 10% that much air.

How noisy is this fan? wanting to put in my living room, it would be about 10ft from our recliners... is it too noisy for being that close?

I think it would be a bit loud for being that close to recliners where you're obviously trying to relax. Unless, of course, you want major air.
