Love the Bose Wave Radio
I’ve owned a Bose Wave Radio system for many years. Used to run three in different places in the house and one at work. Over time they break down, the CD player goes wonky. I had three of my old ones repaired and gave them to my kids, and have one left to repair. I’ve missed the Wave system so much that I bought this one, and I’m so glad I did. It works perfectly, and the remote is the big one rather than the little credit card size. There’s not a scratch or issue at all with the unit, and the rich Bose sound easily fills my office. The unit is intuitive and easy to use, and the platinum color looks nice in my neutral grey taupe beige home/office. My only problem is I can’t blue tooth to it as I need an adapter. I don’t know which one to buy that’s best for my unit. I contacted the seller but they gave me no recommendation, other than to tell me I need an adapter. It was nice they answered but I thought the seller could have been more helpful.

Bose, I Salute You ... This Unit Lives Up To All The Hype!
I thought I had already reviewed this purchase. My first attempt didn't publish, but I thought the second attempt had, well anyway ... I LOVE THIS MUSIC SYSTEM! I can't get over the incredible sound that comes out of a system of this size. On some of my CDs the sound is better than on my living room stereo system. This unit is placed in my bedroom and whether I'm playing the radio or a CD or MP3, I have absolutely no complaints regarding the sound. The "bottom" (bass line) is incredible!! I love the ease of turning the unit on or off (soft touch to the top), but I will probably purchase the Wave III premium backlit remote soon. Not because I dislike the "credit card-sized" remote that comes with the unit, but because if I misplace it - it's doubtful but it could happen - I could only use the radio if it was the last feature that I was playing before turning the unit off (and I couldn't change the radio station). You have to have a remote to switch between playing the radio, CDs, or any other audio/video auxilliary equipment connected to the unit. You can't change the radio stations, or move forward or backward in the CD's tracks, set either of the two alarms, change the factory settings for certain features, etc., without a remote control! I've had the music system for over a month and I consider it money very well spent. I've already raved enough about it that I convinced a relative to buy one. (He said he had intended to buy the system but wanted to get a review from another "audiophile" who's opinion he trusted.) I didn't have to purchase a FM antenna, and my AM stations sound better than they do via the tuner on my living room stereo system! If I have one complaint about this unit it is that when playing CDs you see the disc's elasped playing time for each track, but unfortunately as the disc is being read when first put into the unit, there's no total playing time for the entire compact disc, nor is there information regarding the total number of tracks on the disc. Here's hoping that the engineers/designers who will be working on the Bose Wave Music System IV (I don't doubt that that will be the next model in this line) will incorporate those features.

device delivered non funtional out of the box
i feel cheated by misrepresentation by this seller. i assumed the device would actually work. it did (for about 15 seconds). In the next 15 minutes I found 4 defects in the operation and almost lost a CD which was not ejected. the company has the nerve to give instructions on how to make the device work along with the defective product. On top of that, I was charged about 25% of purchase price for "restocking" when it was retired. I think Amazon should refuse to allow this business to cheat customers in this manner. It reflects poorly on the Amazon reputation.

No surprises
My wife has a ten year old earlier model which she loves. In the past 2 years the cd portion has become tempermental and the bass is now quite boomey, which bothers me a lot more than her. Would gladly pay $100 or so to be able to take it somewhere locally (LA) and get it back up to snuff. My main interest in System III however is mainly as an easy to set (and reset) dual alarm cd clock radio with battery backup. After 4 months of a Sony that was very ergonomically unfriendly, the alarm aspect went to heaven (well somewhere). There is a lot of low-end clock radio stuff out there without much of anything in the middle ground. If your main interest is in the sound from a device with a rather small footprint, this would certainly fit the bill. The good... Easy to use....Good sound...Being able to turn the unit on and off by just tapping the top instead of having to rely on the remote is a big improvement in the product and should have been implemented years ago. This was the one feature that finally pushed me over the top causing me to say, "Oh what the hell" and order the Bose, thus ending a rather time consuming painfull search for clock radios. The bad... Same as in previous versions, the remote! Small, delicate, very easy to lose/misplace. It was (and still is) the bane of the total package. I am surprised that Bose hasn't come up with at least some kind of a velcro arrangement to easily keep remote and unit in a symbiotic relationship. My recomendation would be to spring for the $40 back lighted III remote. It comes with a stand and is at least reasonably useable. Of course it goes without saying that Bose should have packaged it with the radio without upping the cost. The ugly... The cost of the product. It is outrageous...but you already know that. No surprises here. Bottom line - If you can handle the $$$, go for it. The unit on the whole, fits my needs. The price becomes somewhat more palatable if your main use is to fill a room with music. It does a nice job with that.

Don’t hesitate! Worth every penny
I have waited my entire adult life to purchase a Bose system and I am kicking myself for not getting sooner. The sound is outstanding and I couldn’t be happier. I love that I can move it room to room.

Overpriced but good quality.
I was hoping for a good music player and a alarm clock. It makes a decent music player and alarm clock. It is supposed to have really good sound. The sound is muttled and there are no adjustments to make it any better. I didn't like the fact that there were no buttons but I've found that it doesn't really cause to much of a problem as long as the batteries are good. It does however have a couple annoying features. It has an auto dim feature for low light which I would rather disable but it won't let you. It will let you turn it up some with makes it tolerable. When you set the alarm it comes on low but it automatically goes up to 30 which I wanted louder but again no adjustment. Now the good features. It seems very well built and sturdy. The design is attractive and fits in most places with no problem. It does have a Cd player which works well as long as you don't what to preset tracks (It will only shuffle). With all this said, I still have to give it a three. I would give it a four if the price tag wasn't so high. For the money, I expect a few more adjustments. It is very easy to use however and serves it purpose well. It does need to have more options. It works well and seems like it will last a good long time. I'm fairly happy with it.
