Good hiker
These are very nice hikers. I do a lot of hiking in fairly rugged terrain and brush. These hold up well and are very comfortable even on long hikes. That being said, they are surely not for every foot, and I also bought after market insoles to replace the ones they came with. I do this with all my shoes because the manufacturers don't care about insoles and just want you to buy the shoe. If you are just using the insole that comes with any shoe or boot you are probably not getting the most out of your shoes-especially work boots, athletic shoes, and hiking boots.I use Powerstep Pros in all my shoes. I have slightly narrow feet and high arches and the Powersteps are a good fit for me. I've tried the Powerstep Pinnacles and the fabric peeled off from the insole-on the one I bought and four other replacement pairs. I would suggest that you avoid those. I take a pair of the Pros shoe shopping with me and replace the insoles of the new shoes before I buy them, just to make sure they feel right. I am very picky about my foot comfort. So if you are serious about a good fitting, comfortable hiking boot, these Timberlands are worth a try- but whatever shoe you choose, do yourself a favor and get some good insoles to go with them. They add about $30 to the cost, but if you are on your feet all day long and your feet are tired or aching, good insoles are worth as much as the shoe.

Couldn't be better!
I was forced by a situation beyond my control to immediately need a new pair of hiking boots only a week before leaving for a week of hiking in the rainforests of Costa Rica. I live in the woods - literally an hour from the nearest traffic light, so I had nowhere to shop. I wasn't sure ordering these boots online was going to be a satisfactory solution, but figured I could always send them back. Judging from the positive reviews I hoped they would fit right out of the box - and they did fit "like a glove"! They were totally comfortable right out of the box. I wore them to work for a few days to figure out how much moleskin I would need to bring along for the blisters - but they were totally comfortable. No blisters, and they provide excellent traction as well as support. They also breathe well and don't get damp and hot inside, even after a day's wear. I wore them 8 to 12 hours a day and they felt like a familiar old broken-in pair of boots I had been wearing for a long time. I am very pleased with this product and can wholeheartedly recommend them.

Durable
I used these boots everyday for work and off work, through thick and thin. I'm in Plant Healthcare, focusing mostly on the health of trees, and I walk nearly 16,000 steps a day. These shoes have been completely frozen in -10°, endured extremely hot 110°, has been drenched in water hundreds of times, saved my feet from nails a couple of times, and had to suffer from chemicals I use at my job very often. Finally after about 11 and a half months of constant damage they became ineffective at anything except comfort. They are good shoes if you just take them for occasional hiking, I'm sure they would last a long time. For what I paid, good shoes.

Awesome, tough, comfortable hiking boots, that don't look like clown shoes.
I am so incredibly pleased and psyched to have finally found these hiking boots. I've had a pair of Timberland work boots forever, and they still fit great and are still waterproof, so I thought I'd give these a try, to get away from the kind of silly and somewhat evil-looking Solomon hiking boots. These boots fit and feel just great; comfortable to wear all day, totally sturdy for any activities, and the look is exactly what I wanted: Not super technical and colorful and garish. They look classic, tough, and my girlfriend says they look like vintage mountaineering boots which is all I needed to hear. Love'em.Oh, and as to size: Most of the time I wear a 10.5, though sometimes I have to get an 11. For these, the 10.5 was perfect. Granted when I first put them on, I had a potentially psychosomatic "are these too small?" moment, but after wearing them for even just a short time, they feel like just the right size (and may have stretched a bit to fit even better).

Best timberlands ever - Tired of your feet killing you at the end of a work day - Try these
Best Boots in the world. I buy a new pair every year since they are by far the best timberlands you can have. I've worn timberlands for over 20 years and i always did the pro series with a steel toe. I am on active construction sites every day and standing on my feet for 10-12 hours straight. My feet at the end of the day would be killing me and it really started to make me miserable. For christmas my girlfriend one year bought me these thinking they were pro series and i was actually pissed at first. I tried them on and i was amazed they were so comfortable and supportive. I wore them for a couple a days and fell in love. I have to change them out yearly through since i wear them about 360 days of the year. They are worth every penny and i would suggest and do active suggest them to anyone i can.

Change in quality
This was the second pair we have ordered and both pairs the grommets that hold the shoe laces have popped off when tightening the laces to tie. Have bought these in the past and they have held up for well for two years with daily wear and tear on the job sites. Very disappointing that I have to send another pair back after a week of wearing.

Comfort and Support
Had purchased these boots before on the recommendation of my podiatrist. My feet were very sore at the end of the day from wearing typical work boots with marginal arch support. He suggested that I invest in a good pair of hiking books. I have to say that this investment was wonderful. The boots are light weight, very comfortable and provide excellent arch support. At the end of a long day of wearing these boots, my feet no longer ache. In addition, they are water repellent so I can wear them outside in the winter as well as during rainy or muddy days. My olds boots lasted me a little over 2 1/2 years. It was time to get another pair, and Amazon had these at the best price. I learned the hard way that going cheap on shoes/boots can cost you more than you would think. I very much recommend these boots for anyone who is working on their feet all day
