Firstly for £25, it is good value camera, regardless of any shortcomings that it might have, especially when you remember that 5 years ago there was nothing like this on the market. For many years I hoped that someone would make a stand alone, memory card equipped, recording camera, which could be placed anywhere, when using a usb battery. It's only this year, that has really seen these amazingly integrated solutions, become available at a good price.Daytime resolution could be better when using the default settings, with some frame dropping and part of the smoothness of a scene lost due to a low frame rate. The image quality itself is very strong, more than adequate for general security or wildlife monitoring. The night-time footage seems to be smoother, with great IR illumination up to around ten feet. The LED's do glow, which is not seen on many of these bullet based cameras. Also when the camera is mounted and recording, the blue LED flashes visibly, in the front of the camera housing. In my opinion, this might create unwanted attention from drunks and those that take exception when they see a camera. For the sake of discretion, I believe a major improvement would be the removal of these lights and the use of non visible Infra-red LEDs in the ring around the lens.As regards the camera's physical attributes, the enclosure is solid, although the threads on the removable lens unit, have too much clearance, so are prone to misalignment during rotation. You can get round this by tilting the lens cover sideways every few turns, to put it back in the right thread. The stand is utilitarian, being sufficient for most domestic applications. The nut on the stand base needs to be done up tightly in order to stay secure. All electronics are well assembled and protected, with a well designed cable which exits from the back of the camera. The lead is long enough for low down sites, but an extension will be needed if the camera is mounted to view outside, since these cameras obviously need to be out of reach of people who might want to damage them. It's a real shame that no-one has solved the issue of night time recording through indoor glass windows. The ideal application is on a window sill, behind the owner's front window, to watch the garden or car. This is made impossible due to the reflected glare caused by the IR LEDs, which effects all night surveillance equipment. A way round this may be a low light sensitive black and white unit, which does not require IR illuminators in street lit conditions. The option of disabling the IR LEDs would be a useful feature, as would a Line In connection, so that the user could connect their own non IR external camera.The biggest issue that I have found with the camera is the difficulty in customisation. I want to add a caveat, I'm not a tech expert, so for all I know, this camera may have many features, of which I am totally ignorant. However, the instructions should in an ideal world, let the beginner know if this is the case. I have found that it records in very short 2 minute loops, crucially, missing approximately 15 seconds per change over to the next loop segment. I would like it to record in at least 30 minute sections and definitely not to miss any footage. A great amount can happen in 15 seconds, so a market leading camera needs to address this issue, because all customers want seamless recording.The lack of proper instructions on the website is also a frustration. I don't know if the camera can have its resolution raised, which I would like, because the daytime video flow is quite clunky or intermittent when filming action. The only choice seems to be available when you download the time setting software, but this only gives two options for resolution. I filmed a person arriving on a bike and the first 10 feet were missing due to the camera's low frame rate. Again, from a security point of view, missed frames could be the difference between the police catching a burglar and the burglar escaping to steal another day. Raising the frame rate would hugely improve this device.Apart from that, the only feature that I would really love to see, is a simple dashboard, as part of the playback software, where you could adjust the settings or if the camera was connected via the USB, without a card in the slot, then a menu came up automatically, which would enable the user to change the key parameters of the DVR and camera, quickly and without spending time trying to find out how to accomplish this task.In summary the 808 is a great innovation, at an affordable price, enabling those who want the versatility of memory card recording, combined with a water resistant night time camera which can provide useable images on a continuous basis, all for under £25. Improvements for the future would most importantly address the user interactivity of the camera's settings, the poor frame rate/resolution and the inappropriate use of visible lights at the front of the camera housing.

First of all if you decide to buy this camera you will need to buy separately extension wire (the actual one is less than 0.5 m and it is not enough to reach the power source), You will need to buy a SD 32 GB card to record . The company selling do not tell the truth: in the Chinese manual book said that the camera it is recording 3 - max 5 days continuously, The truth it is that it is recording 3 days until the 32 GB is full, and there are SD cards with the manufacturer say 32 but the real space of information bytes is 28.14 GB. I tried all settings of the camera including the Chinese site, they do not give all information needed and it is impossible to do the time settings, even you respect all instructions. I have tried 5 times and always the time settings goes with the CHINA hour, which is 8 hours ahead, So always you have to take off 8 hours of the time. When the camera arrived it was a nightmare, because I needed very quick to install to keep away some people with antisocial behavior of my neighborhood. The camera suddenly blocked and the computer refused to recognize it the second time, even the 1st time was OK. After the camera blocked, the blue recording led never came off, even the camera was unplugged from power source and this last more approx. 24 h. I decided to return the parcel,, but I tried one more time after 24 h, the blue light came off and the camera was recognized by the computer (my op. system is WINDOWS 7). The camera records sound, but less than 50 % of real sound... I tried all settings, does not work better. The images are faded and in the night it is not very accurate. This is the price you will pay when you want to buy a cheap product! I am not sure if I will return or not, I will take decision next week to see the first 3 days of recording outdoor, NEXT TIME I WILL BUY A MORE EXPENSIVE PRODUCT and the seller has to tell exactly the real information about the product! So: sound is poor, images are color but faded and TIME SETTING IS CHINA and you'll need to buy an extension USB wire and 32 GB memory card!
