Does its job beautifully
Hard to find the “right” lock for a barn door, especially one that leads into a bathroom. Bought 2 for two different newly installed doors. Contractor had no problem figuring out how to install once I showed him how it works. Just needed to dig into the door a bit at the slot opening so the hinge would catch a bit more securely. Easy to use and gets the job done. Just be sure to install at outer edge of frame and mark where it would hit the door once the door is pulled closed. Looks great, too.

Better style
Used a different style previously and this is much better. The only issue is the distance from the jamb to the door... this lock doesn't travel far and must measure carefully to make it work.

Added to metal Security door
When the proprietary door handle failed on my metal security door I struggled to find a manual lock that I could mount to the door.I was able to angle this lock slightly to get maximum engagement while fitting in the limited width of the door stile (vertical member). I am quite pleased with the quality of the lock.

Fail to Deliver
The lock requires cutting into the door to fully function. If the strike plate was thicker, or if there was a way to contact customer service to “add a 2nd strike plate” to the door, no cutting would be required. Baseboards are considerably thicker, so there’s no reason to make the strike plate so thin and eliminate all functionality of the lock.Company does not respond to emails.The lock requires expert tools (slicing into door).It slides right off the strike plate if there is no door grooved.It costs 3 times as much as other locks and requires monumental amount of effort.

Not as advertised!
I'm returning this. You think for $20 it would have the correct size washers for the lock. The actual unit is a nice finish and it's totally ruined by the cheap plastic washers that you can clearly see.
