IMO the best smoker out there hands down!
Best and easiest smoker I have ever had!!! I am so happy I bought this smoker instead of the others out there. My only complaint is I didn't get the bigger one. People were complaining about the glass being useless and it gets dirty the first time, well I say to that.......CLEAN IT! I simply get a scraper razor and dish soap water and clean it each time I use it and it has stayed as clean as the first day duh! I will say the bottom rack is kind of useless because it is to close to the burner hence why I want the bigger unit. I am amazed at how good my food is! I have tried and tried to use a regular wood smoker and could never keep the right temp even though I had to babysit the smoker ALL day. With this I turn it on, get the optional side smoker going (highly recommend you buying the optional side unit! But thats a different review), put the meat in and let it do its thing. This morning before work I put 3 racks of ribs in it, set it to 230 deg. and left I came back 4 hours later and they were ready to wrap them up! No babysitting at all. This smoker holds the temp very nicely. My brother in Law has a fancy overpriced pellet smoker that starts with a "T" and it makes good food no doubt but he has complained so much about having to babysit it while it cooks, I have watched the temp. go as high as 300 and as low as 140 after opening it to spray the meat. It takes about 15 mins to get back to the right temp and kind of keep the correct temp. He is the one that told me not to buy the same one he has. Cleanup is easy too. I just take the racks out and the holders for the racks, all the sear plates and throw them in the washer, no scrubbing at all. The only issue I have had is this last time I used it the built in temp. probe stopped working. It only reads 310 deg. but I never trusted it anyway so I am just using the same remote probe I have always used, not a biggy for me, but might be for you. This smoker makes you a pro over night. I have never had ribs as good as the ones I make with this smoker. My son in law is a rib junky and gets ribs at every restaurant he goes to and has told me he has never had ribs as good as the ones I make. That made me feel really good considering I have ruined every set of ribs I have cooked before buying this smoker. If you are looking for a good smoker that holds the temp perfect then this one is the right one. I would deffinatly buy another on despite the probe not working.

Enjoying the smoked meat.....
I received the Masterbuilt smoker 4 days ago. The assembly was very easy. So far, this smoker has been exceptional. The temperature is bang on with a slight variation due to the spring like temperatures in New Jersey. My first instinct was to place the smoke out on my deck with an umbrella over it due to cloudy skies. Needless to say after ten minutes a torrential downpour came over and some water got onto the smoker. After the shower past, I wiped it down with a towel and all was good. I also purchased the Wood Smoking Chips Variety Gift Set - Set of 8 Pints (Oak, Apple, Cherry, Pecan, Maple, Bourbon, Hickory, Mesquite) to go along with the smoker. Went to the Amish market and picked up 2 slabs of pork ribs, a 20" slab of pork tenderloin, a boneless lamb (American raised) and a 5lb. pork shoulder. My first test was a 10" slice of the tenderloin, smoked it for 3 hours. Simply amazing, tender and juicy. Since we didn't eat it all, my wife made an amazing pulled pork with it. Second was the ribs, great smoky flavor and just perfect. After the ribs, cleaned up the smoker and threw the lamb in. The best flavor and tender meat. Made some homemade Greek Tzatziki and pitas for Giro's. AWESOME. Today, after simple cleanup from yesterday, I started the pork shoulder. The rub was all homemade and it sat in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Just putting it in the smoker had my mouth watering. The best thing about this smoker is that the the only part that gets hot is the glass door but it won't hurt the grand kids if they touch it. I have since moved it into my screened in porch and smoke everything there. The smoke is so gentle and light, sitting on the porch with this small amount iof smoke is relaxing. Since everything inside is stainless steel and removable, clean up is a breeze. A few words of advise, only insert the racks that have meat on them so that you don't have to clean all of them. Don't forget to add the water in the pan. As others have stated, the remote is sketchy, but I found myself not needing or using it. I would rather check the front panel to get a good whiff of the meat smoking. A friend came over and tasted everything that came out of the smoker and saw how convenient it was and determined to buy one for his apartment.

Delivered fast. Assembly instructions very good, clear to understand. Assembly straight forward only needing a screwdriver and can be done by most people. Powered up smoker. All controls work perfectly. The remote however would not link to the controller until I read instructions further and saw my mistake. Works perfectly and can interface with controller from anywhere in my home! Must say off the top that the size of this smoker caught me off guard! I would have been fine with a 30 inch but I really wanted the 1200 watt element for those cooler days and wanted something I could smoke a full turkey in. Oh yeah, it'll do a turkey! Lots of room! First order of business, preseason the smoker. Ambient temperature was only 7C but I was amazed that after a cold start the smoker was well over 200C in 10 minutes! Timer and heat set point right on the money. Jumped in with both feet and smoked a 12 Lb. turkey first thing. Used a maple smoke and some herbs with garlic cloves and onion in the cavity. Just some salt and pepper on outside. Was easily able to adjust cooking temperature and using the cold smoker attachment I had a good 3 hour smoke to the meat. Just barely had the top vent open to keep turkey moist. Produced an incredible smoked turkey better than the butcher used to do. Very, very moist, a bit too much so. Perfect smoke flavour and not too strong. Looked incredible! UPDATE: May 22, 2016 Have done cheese (cold smoked), nuts, brisket, pork chops and another turkey. Everything came out wonderful. Learning every time it is used! Love it!! Trying different wood chips, spices, temperatures and herbs. Thanks to another reviewer for suggesting using foil to cut down on clean-up! Awesome!

Awesome smoker, easy to use, I would get another thermometer though. May want to get a welders blanket to keep the heat in in cold temperatures

I previously had a propane smoker of similar shape and size. This thing beats it hands down. It is so low maintenance during use I have sometimes forgot I had it going. The big differences are it uses far less wood chips than the propane one, it is cool to the touch on all exterior surfaces, drip tray is less messy, and its pretty much "set it and forget it". Before, with my old smoker I would have to constantly monitor the gas as wind, air temp and the wood itself would drastically change the internal cooking temperature. I love this thing. I cant imagine a better and easier to use smoker. The results are amazing and perfect every time. Edit: 3 yrs in and it works awesome. cleaning is a pain but I use it once a week to smoke pork. heavy use will gum this thing up quick so maintain regular cleaning to avoid harsh taste.

The only good thing I can say about this order is the time it took to arrive to me from the US! ETA was May 7th. It arrived on April 24th. I was so excited to replace my Bradley Smoker with this one. HOWEVER, my first disappointment after opening the box was to discover that it had a US 3-pin plug. THIS should have been a clue to me. I contacted Amazon they assured me that buying a (travel) adapter would solve this problem. So, I did so from their site. I assembled it and went to pre-season the smoker as suggested in the instruction manual. I plugged the appliance in and it beeped twice and THAT WAS IT!!! It did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE!!! It wouldn't even power on!! I called the manufacturer in the US and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up! I contacted Amazon and was told the only thing for me to do now was to return it to their facilities in the US!! And, while I was promised I would be reimbursed for the cost, it was more than £150 to ship the thing. And, while packing away the smoker I read the back panel.. It clearly says 120v!! A Google search says: "If you have a single voltage device that accepts only 120V, then it will not operate in the UK without a converter or transformer." Pity is... I have one!! (After cooling myself down I contacted Amazon again regarding this issue. And, they will ensure this doesn't happen to any other UK customer.). As for the unit itself, I really like the build quality. If the manufacturer says that it will work with a transformer, then I may purchase another one and come back and edit this review.

Awesome smoker. Easy to use. Did our first batch of smoked fish which turned out fantastic. Thermostatically controlled so we didn't have to keep getting up to check on the smoking process. Can't wait to do our Thanksgiving Turkey in it.
