PMEEdible Lustre Spray, Gold, 3.3 Ounce

I LOVE this product. It turned plain white meringue cookies into gold. I feel like an alchemist!

The spray does what it's meant to do. Give your chocolates a golden shiny look. But you need to put on more than 1 coat. Had originally did light dusting on milk chocolate, but after a 2-3 hours, golden color was barely visible. Even more so when you put chocolate into cellophane bag. Do 2-3 layers (spray lightly over 2-3 times, instead of 1 very heavy application). If you put too heavy of application, it runs and looks messy. Overall, made favors look very nice, even though I felt it was a bit expensive for the can.

It added a pam flavor to the cookies we did. It was cute for St. Patrick's Day, but it did not taste well.

Don't let the appearance fool you. I ALMOST overlooked this can because of the advertisement ON the can. It just didn't look like it could get the job done, and it looked like the gold was not going to be the gold I wanted..FOOLED ME. For my metallics, I have used Wilton, PME and AmeriColor and found the Wilton and the AmeriColor to spittle VERY badly, even after shaking the cans vigorously and cleaning the nozzle under hot water. I purchased PME for an 6" cake round. The cake was iced in WHITE icing and STILL the coverage was even, the shine and luster was prominently present. After many passes over to the get the gold that I wanted, I still had contents left over in the can. There IS a slight taste to it, and I let my customers know that. I tell them that they I can add a drop of lemon extract to my cake icing to it and the taste goes away. I have done it both ways with and without the lemon extract and still get rave reviews on the taste of the icing. You will not be disappointed in using this spray, it gives that glistening gold that you are looking for it you don't have an air brush machine...DOUBLE THUMBS UP for me , I will be using this spray whenever it is available at my local bakery shop.

It only covered a small amount. I had a three tiered cake in which I wanted the top 6" layer partially gold, but it barely was enough to trim the 6" layer. Very disappointed in the amount in the can. Very expensive for what you actually get. Would not recommend.

Looks great on cupcakes and cake!!! Use lightly if you want a light shade of gold, keep spreading if you want a deeper gold

Not much shimmer. It has orangey colour rather than gold.
